the green dot in the upper left corner shows that theres a scene available at your current location yes.
but apart from scenes you need to progress with a girl theyre all repeatable scenes or sometimes just single frames.
unfortunately ive seen them all dozens of times while playing through the game and most of them dont add anything to the games atmosphere.
theyre neat the first and maybe second time but after seeing them over and over while checking if theres something you missed they lose their entertainment value.

I didn't know what the green dot was for until now. Thanks for the clarification.

Then it's good news that there's a built-in Girls tracker that shows you the detailed schedules of every girl, how to progress with them, and how to get their repeatable sex scenes... Not to mention the dev providing a literal spreadsheet with every single event and its criteria.
