This is another step to putting a device in your house between the wire outside on the pole and to your router that device will only allow you to view what they allow you too see and monitor you 24/7.

This will affect sites like lewdcorner and thousands of other's but the old age home we call the usa government will have 0 clue what i means/is and let this happen this will be a death blow to those thousands of sites. You can see cloudfare is involved in all of this direct/indirect

People like me outside usa will again be looking for ways to watch locked down usa only content right now i am watching the new season of harley quinn as well as old anime like black lagoon only available in America or just not available at all if this law passes looks like i will have to go deeper intto he net to watch it just like a isis terrorist ahh freedom.

But yeah keep a eye out for your site to disappear if this happens i am sure lewdcorner will survive but your access might go poof a vpn may still work?

I've already run and created a game backup system so I don't lose anything. Unfortunately, I don't trust the hosting system except my web server.

The whole thing is designed to have no oposition and always win by default.

It has two major points. First, it's about foreign piracy sites (funny how they don't mention games, but I guess it's still included), and second it's to force internet provider to block those sites.

The foreign sites operator has to appear in the us court within 30 days, if not the internet provider get forced to block it.
Sure, even if everything is legit, no fucking ass will ever fly to the us and book an expensive hotel just for this.

It's a typical farce. And I can already see this being used agains EVERYTHING else too. "Oh, you made a critical youtube video about our dogshit movie? Well Well Well..."
And similar to FOSTA-SESTA from 2018, many sites will get blocked by those service providers just as a cautionary measurement, even before anything happends, even withour them breaking any copyright laws.

And, of course, why should it be anything else, this is a perfectly easy method of censorship of foreign media and news sites. US will become China 2.0.

As a California left-coast Silicon Valley shill, she is late to the party. This is going to get hammered on both sides by both the Open Internet people and the pro-business Republicans. DNS blocking is a very slippery slope and having ISps put that mechanism in place will push people into darker corners that the NSA definitely doesn't want to have to deal with.

They already have a birds eye view on practically ALL internet traffic zipping around the USA because of where their monitoring points are. Piling on a bunch of pervs and anime fans on top of the actual people that are up to no good is in my opinion a non-started. If Tulsi gets confirmed I doubt she would want to see anything like this as well.

Only the MPAA and other copyright holders were pushing for this. AT&T, Comcast, and the rest would want nothing to do with this. Just looking at it gives me a terrible idea to make things 1000x worse by encouraging micro-DNS servers to pop up with crazy and really dangerous results, but surely with less than $100M in revenue. As of January 20th this is DOA.

May be time to finally figure out how a tor browser works.

You start it and it works, not special skills or knowledge needed.
It's slow tho. And watching streams can be really annoying because of that.

Thanks. I assumed as much and have had it explained before. I just haven't had a reason to use it.

To be fair, if you just want to circumvent geoblocking, this isn't an issue. ;)
But sadly their standard browser, DuckDuckGo, is currently even more censored than google. :(

Still? I had heard this years ago but figured someone had developed a search engine. Good to know though. Thanks.

Tor is not a dark web. Tor is his future. And the regular Internet is a dying Internet, like tv.

The worst part is, everyone knew this was going to happen except the people in the positions to actually stop it who treated it like business as usual. Just like how the last people to realize Hitler had taken over Germany were the opposition party members who thought everything was fine right up until they were standing against the wall.

There have been some victories but I fear that the only way this ends is with the man in the white house giving an order that the military will have to decide to either obey and end US democracy or ignore. It's what's happened every time this situation has happened before sadly.

The best mechanism for Tor usage that makes sense to me is an onion site that has torrent files on it. Tor is very slow due to the hops and limited exit nodes, with most exit nodes being feds, and those feds monitor everything that goes on because of that, along with the fact that most exit nodes are just open for spying and anyone that tries to set up an exit node can find themselves under a fed microscope for the traffic going through.

Using torrent files over Tor seems to be a good way to go, because the file size is small, and a lot of files can fit easily on an onion server, which isn't bad on a slow network, and the torrent can then be downloaded over a completely encrypted back end, so 3 or 6 GB of file size won't totally kill the Tor network, or take 3 days to download.
