The only shota I've seen that was true shota was "Such a Sharp Pain", but then again, it's only a couple scenes. SSP does have plenty of loli however. Story progression degrades heavily into random frequent sex scenes, would've liked something more of a slow burn along with a coherent plot line.

I have no major preference, I mostly enjoy them both as a coming of age story (focused on sexuality). I had a very strict childhood/adolescence, so it's cathartic seeing young characters experiencing that side of life without the guilt/shame. Insexual Awakening's Sam and Nate are a top example of that to me.
