Lain suffers from severe depression and anxiety, She has been known to go MIA for some times to normally clear her head and come back after sometime but this is the longest she has been MIA. when her game got banned almost everywhere she took it REALLY hard.

One of the best games in terms of consistent AI art. You can tell someone put ton of effort into the game.
Sadly it also became one of the biggest online scams for money known to man. It's a shame.
I still have hopes, but minimal at this point, that one day it will get continuation.
The other AI art games are inconsistent - that Alchemist game and Girl Scout one from new games posted on here are prime example.
I was there when this game was first posted on LG. It was a game which made me register here permanently lol.

Ugh I know what you mean about the "alchemist game". It seemed like every other image either had a missing nostril or some weird uncanny valley aspect (eyelashes behind eyes, hair from nowhere on head, costume inconsistencies). I would have reviewed but didn't feel right doing it if I only played a couple of hours.

This one is sad as it had so much potential. It had some quirks but it wasn't anything that couldn't have been remedies later in the story. I don't know what the money scam was but someone could totally continue it. It's only a rendered Ren'Py AVN, not a Rockstar game. LOL

Look at their page. People paid money and then she disappeared - I get it, mental health issues are a big problem, but to not say a word to anyone and disappear is concerning, even from fans perspective.
As for it not being Rockstar game, true, but to maintain that level of consistency with AI art? Good luck. I wrote about it. Most AI games are heavily inconsistent when it comes to AI art and you can tell. This game was first game I truly thought AI art was amazing as it was very polished (probably improved by hand art).
Only the og author can make continuation. Story and whatnot yeah, that could be done by someone else, but not og art.

Really glad you said this, it's the least you could do. It's very likely that the mishandling of this fiasco led to a tragic loss that can never be undone.

Here's to you Lain, wherever you are. I really hope I'm wrong about that being "in the ground".
