Oh thank goodness, Neko-Hime's still around. I was looking at the latest updates for the other games and got worried for a second.

Uhm.. What?

What's the flower patch for? A whole GB patch... 😮

flower= loli. This is a decent loli/shota AVN (not just a short 1-scene flashback just to get the tag), so of course the patch will be huge compared to the base AVN that will have hardly any content without it.

Getting an error in the top right corner when I launch the game. When I try to load a save game it also gives an error and closes the game...

Patch and game versions do not match
Please download most recent patch

Thoughts on what to do about this?

I have no idea what went wrong. I downloaded the game and played it there was very little content that was any good. Then I noticed the patch so I downloaded that, extracted the folder, put it into the game file and now it just gives me an error when I try to play the game. Very frustrating. Does anyone have any idea what I did wrong. On PC if that helps.

Doing a simple rollback (scroll wheel up) when loading into the save seems to work for me. I got the same issue.

It's been almost a year since the last update 😔
It's prob abandoned. I asked back when I was still on SS what happend to L&D and it was ignored. A post back in March (I think) said otherwise but usaully when the dev loses interest abandoned usually is what happens.

"Let's talk about Light & Dark. According to the poll, you wouldn't mind waiting longer, but—and I have to admit this to myself—I've completely lost touch with it.

I'm sitting here with a new chapter, and all the ideas in my head just don't fit. When I try to write like I usually do, I realize that nothing excites me, and if it doesn't excite me, then it certainly won't excite you.

So what can I do?

It will continue, but I don't think I'll continue it the way it is. And if there's something new, don't worry, the characters will stay the same; only the story will take a different turn. The thing with the father and the aliens... it was something I saw in another game, and I thought, hey, that fits... but unfortunately, no. It's completely off, and I can't come up with a story that makes any sense whatsoever."

It really sounds like ADHD when one's mind races like that, they work on idea picked out of dozens floating around in their head, then drop it while leaving it half-baked while working on the next idea (his current unnamed AVN, 120k words of which already written and mostly done, go figure). A classic example of why devs really should just write the entire story first before even the first render or line of code even if it's 1000+ scenes in total. I guess we were somewhat lucky that Mau-Sama was ever finished (even if it did get weird as fuck to me later on), and guessing it was mostly written beforehand as I previously mentioned.

You're absolutely right. You should either finish a story from start to finish, or if you stop midway, it shouldn’t really have a proper plot to begin with - like most slice-of-life manga and anime.

With L&D, I just had way too many ideas, but none of them were properly developed or thought through to the end. Unfortunately, my head is constantly full - often overflowing - so I try to jot everything down in bullet points just to have some kind of anchor. Some of those ideas fade away over time, while others I keep working on until they finally feel right.

But sometimes, when I reread my own notes after a few weeks, I just… stop. I get completely stuck, nothing else comes to mind, and I lose the thread entirely - exactly what happened with L&D.

That’s why, from now on, I’m going to fully develop everything first before I start writing. You never stop learning, and I’m only human - with a head that’s honestly just a bit too big for its own good.
