Can you elaborate? That was something that happened back at the end of 0.2, I believe. Is it not functioning in this version?

Can confirm that it worked fine for me, maybe they forgot you have the click the actual word AGE to change it. (oh also I started a new game like the patch notes suggested)

Hi everybody,

is it normal that after every Update i get a error on load and have to start the game from the beginning?
I have a save from the last Slide and the "you reached the end" slide. Both won´t load.

I´m grateful for any advice.

Maybe read the changelog :

You are probably going to need to restart. The way Ren'py makes its saves is to set it to the line of the script. If the line changes from one version to another (adding in commands/variables for chapters and gallery), it can throw off the line number and make the save invalid. I am sorry about that. This should be the last time you need to do this.

For V0.8, it was write in the changelog too :

Code has been changed and many things have been updated. You may have to start over whether or not you use the gallery because of this. My apologies, but the intricate nature of the code changes between the public and supporter versions required me to go with one base version.

Could be made a little clearer by having that word be more obvious (highlighted, look like a hyperlink?)

Also it's not obvious you have to click on the screen to continue until you hover over it.

So, to make a confusing bit of information longer (and probably more confusing):

Spoiler: Seriously verbose explanation

Libertine was originally designed to have two "versions". One is the supporter version, which was going to include the gallery and chapter replay options. It was also going to be the version that allowed altering ages. The public was going to be the basic version with none of the extras.

I changed the basic/public version to include altering ages right at the beginning. However, because it adds new code to the scripts, any saves that were at the end of the previous version would not "translate" into the next version because of the way Ren'py handles saves. Basic rule: if you fuck with the code, it fucks up the saves.

Flash forward to just after supporter version 0.9 and before public version 0.8. I'm having a shit time trying to get the gallery to work. I just can't. I'm not good at coding. In steps a very nice and good person who takes the time and patience to code a new menu, new GUIs, a working gallery and chapter select, and hands it over to me. Now picture me, basically a ham-fisted baboon banging away at the keyboard, pretending it's code, trying to put this into the newest version, 0.8. I have all kinds of problems, but eventually get it figured out.

So now, I have a working 0.9 supporter version and I decide it's a cool enough feature to give it out in the public 0.8 version. I try transferring over the files, and shit breaks. That's why it ended on 0.8.3p -- errors out the ass. I had to do a bunch of fixes because the more I fixed it, the more it broke.

Now, let's forward to now. I have the old, pre-gallery 0.9 supporter version just sitting there - not the one that's updated with the gallery. That's the first to get released, which, as you can tell, has the old menus and no gallery. Due to the difference between the working 0.8.3p gallery version's and the 0.9 pre-gallery supporter version's scripts, errors happen.

Unfortunately, there is no way I, nor anyone else, can fix this issue with old saves. To make the gallery and chapter select options work, new code had to be added to all the scripts in the game, which will throw your previous saves off and make them unusable.

Thus, I suggest you start a new save and just skip/fast forward to the new parts... or just play the whole thing again.

TL;DR: I tried to do something cool. I'm not good at code. Sorry.

Don't know what to tell you. Just loaded up 0.9c and... it's right there.

Keep in mind, you need to load a save that has access to those scenes and have finished the chapter before you can play it again. It can't read your mind.

"An exception has orrurred: While running game code: File "renpy/common/000statements.rpy", line 460, in execute_pause execute=execute_pause). File "renpy/common/00action_data.rpy", line 228, in get_selected value = self.false_value. Type Error: 'bool' object is not callable.

Any idea why this is happening?

That isn't an error code from the scripts. It might be a corrupt download? Some wires are crossed somewhere.

Cynist, I'd really like to be able to play this with shota on and gay (including all biological boys) off. In other words, I want to see all the boy/girl scenes without doing things with the boys myself. Can you please make that possible?
