Latest Updates V4 Preview
A preview of the next version of LewdCorner’s Latest Updates system.

I wanted to show everyone a preview of something I have been working on behind the scenes: V4 of the Latest Updates page.

This was built from V3, but V4 is a much bigger step forward. One of the biggest changes is that I basically turned it into an actual XenForo add-on instead of keeping it as a standalone page.

That means the goal is no longer just to have a separate updates page. The goal is to make this feel like a real LewdCorner feature that is properly tied into the site.

What changed in V4?

  • Turned into an actual add-on: V4 is being moved away from a standalone page and into a proper XenForo add-on structure.
  • Cleaner overall design: The page is being cleaned up so it feels more polished and easier to use.
  • Better layout direction: V4 is being shaped into something that feels more like a built-in LewdCorner feature.
  • Improved filtering system: Filters are being expanded and organized better so users can find updates more easily.
  • Search improvements: Searching through games, threads, creators, and related update info is being improved.
  • Bookmarks: I am working on a system that lets users save updates or games they want to come back to later.
  • Hidden games: Users will be able to hide things they do not want to keep seeing.
  • Recommended view: I am working on a better way to show updates that may be more relevant to each user.
  • More customization: Layout, card style, image display, tag visibility, compact options, and other visual settings are being worked on.
  • Better options area: V4 has a much bigger settings and options direction so users can control more of how the page feels.
  • More cleanup from V3: A lot of the V3 ideas are being cleaned up, rebuilt, or expanded so they work better in V4.

Important note

This is still unfinished.

Some things are not working correctly yet, and there is still design cleanup, testing, and fixing that needs to happen before I make it available. I do not want to release it while parts of it are broken or half finished.

For now, this is only a showcase of what I have been working on.

What is coming soon?

  • Fixing anything that is currently broken or incomplete.
  • Cleaning up the design so everything feels more consistent.
  • Improving the mobile layout.
  • Polishing the filter system.
  • Making bookmarks and hidden games work properly.
  • Improving saved settings and user options.
  • Continuing the move into a proper add-on structure.
  • Testing everything before release.
  • Turning V4 into a cleaner and more complete LewdCorner feature.

I know it is not ready yet, but I wanted to show the progress because V4 is already a big step forward from V3.

Feedback is welcome, but please keep in mind this is still a work-in-progress preview and not the final release.

never listen to complements from someone named Dingelbarry LOL (just joking)

lets see how she works (we really need the return of something that costs coins, we can win coins & that is not automated that will keep us busy while we are on the site)

am i going to bitch about it?
(yes) but its better than picking my ass (our asses) or logging out

I know, I know (its all about member interaction, keeping them engaged & active on the site as long as possible)
at least that's what my marketing training has taught me & I'm sure the members would agree.

i see way less freaking out than I did just two months ago so you are doing things much better than before (kudos)
I also noticed the banned user list is only for those who really deserve it (kudos again) that must be really hard to do !

oh, will game threads that we ignore or already have on our ignore list show up on the new LU page (Latest Updates Page)
long form for the noobs (you know who you are)

I shall be happy as long as the filters work, no duplicate tags, people label the games correctly, and that it lists them properly. lol

And I don't know if this is a me problem, or an LU page issue, but the current page, with how it loads and displays, has moments where it seems like its resource intensive(this could be a me problem, but it sometimes loads as if its a badly buffered video, depending on how many thumbnails are active and not still images) so hoping V4 plays nice when it comes out. My fingers are crossed for a successful deployment.

cross platform coding for every device type must be a huge pain in the ass !!
i gave up by 2005, can't imagine whats it like now with every one on their phones & all the new O/S's on the free market

Since this is a long thought feature. I think, this will be an improvement.
But feedback is much easier, if we could try the new page.

Hopefully anything we already have filtered in/out stays like that. Also more than 10 filter-outs.

from the off-forum LU, no youll have to sadly filter it out again, im looking at how to bring it over, but currently bookmarking/hiding/ignoring is not working.

I like the direction of the new filters overall, but I have a few UX suggestions.

First, I think the text search field (titles, authors, etc.) would fit better inside the filter panel instead of being separated in the top navigation bar. Since it's part of the filtering process, keeping it together with the rest of the filters would make the interface feel more consistent and easier to use.

I would also move the "Clear Filters" button to the top-right corner of the filter panel rather than placing it next to "Apply Filters". In my opinion, "Apply" and "Clear" represent different actions, and separating them visually makes the interface cleaner and reduces the chance of accidental clicks.

Regarding the "Bookmarks" and "Recommended" buttons, I think they would work better as part of a dedicated filter category rather than standalone buttons next to "Apply Filters".

For example, a new section could be added with a name such as "Browse Mode" or:
  • Collection
  • Source
  • Content Type
  • View Scope
And inside it:
  • All
  • Bookmarks
  • Recommended
  • Hidden
This would keep all browsing and filtering options grouped together and make the filter panel feel more organized, especially as more options are added in the future.

Just my two cents, but I think these changes would improve discoverability and overall usability.

P.S. I'd also like to thank you for all the work and dedication you're putting into the project. As someone who's still relatively new to the forum, my perspective is probably different from that of many long-time users, so these are just my personal impressions. While not every change will necessarily appeal to everyone, I get the impression that these updates come from a genuine effort to improve the experience and keep the platform evolving. The fact that you're willing to experiment with new ideas, gather feedback, and continue refining things is something I appreciate. Keep up the great work.

When you have time, a tweak for font size up or down would be nice for us old dudes.

Other than that, looking good.

its works fine on a PC, they fixed it a while back.
just use the browsers zoom function (CTRL +)

Actually, I'm happy with the way it is now. The only thing I miss is the navigation links bar at the top of the page that can be found everywhere else except the latest update page.

Could we have an alert for game updates instead of or alongside the current one where it's just members getting mad at others when their posts sending them notifications instead of whatever they think is relevant?
It could be tied to games we favorite.

Does the option to unwatch a thread give you what you want? You'll get update info in the Latest Updates page but won't be notified about any posts in that thread made by others.

Looks very clean, thanks for your hard work!

Putting the search into the panel was the first thing I thought of looking at the preview, these are nice suggestions
