Itch.io is removing adult games

Itch.io posted a statement and confirmed they're taking actions due to the same pressure as what Steam received and are forced to conduct a full review of all adult content and will permanently remove any game that infringes on the payment processors policies so yeah.

How the hell is a group that counts a little over 1000 members able to force that much pressure is insane even when knowing how risk-adverse those processors are to anything that could reflect badly on their "reputation".

They have done alot more than this and is one of the reasons why australia has alot of censorship BS this group should have been put into mental health wings a decade ago. The fact a woman with small tits can not be on something deemed adult alone was a red flag.

Yes it was them back then.

On there actual website they show them killing ceo's of companies.

There next target is elon musk with X the "porn" king

Oh and i love the fact that all there actions have lead to mass layoffs like this recent purge is going to lead to alot of income drops then the small tits ban but there doing it to stop objectification by objectifying work done by people of all sexes even a woman. So its the i protect this woman by saying her art she is making objectifies her then burns the art makes the artist homeless and to this "group" that is a win.

The problem with a lot of this is it is really easy for people to not want to get involved publicly. There is some real life shame that can be piled on if you try to argue against any of these NSFW delistings. Because only the already morally corrupt would play that filth, so anyone who is against these bans should be disregarded outrigh.

Why not incest?
In sites like Onlyfans and Pornhub there are real incest videos and in mainstream entertainment how not remember Game of Thrones

USA is not safe from these types of laws either. Some states have already passed "Prove your over 18/21" to visit adult sites, leading to some adult sites just banning the IP's from the entire state to prevent having to create ID software, or have the liability of access to drivers licenses.

As for payment processors, I dont know the answer. Crypto? That was the original intent of it, to not be subject to laws or special interest pressure like were seeing.

But OnlyFans and other sites are ok...
Hum... I wonder what those have in common...
They go after this stuff too. Thats why you see all the "step" stuff. I lost it when i heard "step aunt" wtf is a "step aunt?" no pretent incest.

Also most all vomit content is blocked too.

They just have a slightly different line-in-the-sand.

Pretend sexual deviance is a no no. But pretent murder and genocide are a-ok. woo hoo!

Come on who didn't see this happening. As that site was full of incest, rape, and other morally grey adult games.

I've said it before adult games should have never been sold on sites like Steam and Itch.io. This is the result now.

The question becomes where should/could they be sold and through which payment processor that could be trusted and is simple to use?

If you live in America, there's this new U.S. bill called the "Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate".
In it, it would be illegal for any financial service provider to prohibit or inhibit any legal transaction.
Here's the link:

yup banned... sad

The fact that all 3 of the big payment proccessors are moving lockstep on this issue really does spell out just how monopolistic they are. If this isn't illegal, it should be.

Payment proccessing in this day and age is functionally a utility like electricity and water. Imagine if your power company could just cut your power if they didn't agree with your political views?

I am hoping steam doesn't start culling Japanese visual novels. Nekopara After got a delayed release on Steam due to Valve presumably taking issue with the scenes involving Shigure. If they start going after the rest I am going to have to go back to using MangaGamer and Denpasoft. Both sites are pretty clunky, MangaGamer looks like it was developed in 2008, and both have had issues with Payment Processors in the past. Then the banks/credit card companies will start complaining about fraud and money going into criminal hands because people are forced to go to less reputable places and use dodgy payment providers to get what they want. Hilariously when MangaGamer had issues with their provider the way around was to contact them by email. They would request funds through Paypal and would then give your account enough points to redeem what you wanted.

Jesus.. all of this about ''No Mercy'' - a game that really wasn't shocking by any measure IMO... Karen's are truly the bane of the world.

As i posted here this group is stating they got 40,000 backers.

yup banned... sad

'I put that game here awhile back with DL :)

Then you got anime in general now is beyond broken i am watching muv luv they have 0 problem showing monsters tearing peaople apart eating them but they also have shower scenes umm ok but its more of a way to show them expressing themselves alone.

This is a shower scene in a anime were people are eaten

What is the point at all?

Now yes there is a uncensored version that help's abit to see who is talking but WTF a bar ass is bad but everything else is ok?

Tv shows also have had heavy censorship in many areas.

Every time i see this subject on a youtube video or a news deal its always PORN PORN just like the usa bill forcing you too use a govt id to see pornhub but 0 people want to admit its about "adult content:"

This adult content is very loose the bill's/laws could say any media pre 2014 is now adult that term does not mean porn it means what they think is a adult film so in there minds a kissing scene can be adult material.

Well i can see that happening actually sense a certain country is gearing up for civil war but yes monoplies are getting out of hand in every field the delmonte bankrupt situation 0 news sites want to talk about the fact very soon 1 company can own the entire canned veggie section yes that includes frozen.

Bro I played that game and the history wasn't even THAT disturbing, and there are NSFW games in Steam and any page that are more disturbing than No Mercy

Well, that's really just "adult games shouldn't be sold" at the end of the day.

If you sold them on a separate, new platform, call it "LewdGames" or maybe "Lewd Corner of Games", and that site gets big enough because it sells enough games - you think they wouldn't come for it, too?
They came for Patreon and the like, then steam, now itch.io.

Make a new site that focuses exclusively on the sale of lewd games, and you have the site that'll be hit and shut down next.
This road leads only to one place: Lewd games cannot be sold. Period.

And once those games are gone? Gore & Violence will be next.
They didn't start with NSFW games. They started with Detroit Become Human and failed.
Now they've started again at the weakest link and try to establish precedent and gain more support from people that want to engage in censorship & thought-control.
They'll work their way back to Detroit Become Human in time.

And after the games? Videos and movies, like Game of Thrones. And then music and images. And before long, there'll be nothing left but a wasteland.

When censorship groups have a huge success, they don't call it a day and stop. They're galvanized into more daring and broader actions and look for the next target of their ideological campaigns.

To be fair here - the issue is not that the platforms would be taken down; but that they would lose their currently biggest provider of payment services..

It's mostly a case of waiting for a new provider to show up, or for crypto to become more generally used as a stable payment option. Either way - The fact a payment provider wields enough power to make behemoths like Steam & Itch bend the knee is rather terrifying.

This war has already begun: massive censorship by Karens and payment processors. This is a very serious issue, an international problem initiated by American companies attacking private services through threats of economic restrictions. Just reading this should give you an idea of the seriousness of this and the repercussions it will have.
The worst part is that all they had to do was write in big letters "WE HAVE DELETED GAMES WITH VIOLENT SEXUAL THEMES" and the idiots happily swallowed it, while behind their backs they now can decide what we can and can't buy with our money... and yet there are still people who applaud it.
The Itch.io thing is terrible; many developers lost their jobs, their efforts were sent to hell, all because someone wasn't mature enough to think "I don't like this... I'll ignore it," and instead they sought to screw everyone who didn't align with their thoughts by giving permission to corporations with a monopoly to control private companies.

And yet, what bothers me the most... is that there are people who don't realize this, who don't realize what's happening and the seriousness, of everything it entails, they are those idiots who were left with "VIOLENT SEX GAMES ERASED" and went home satisfied, thinking they had won something, when all that was achieved was to knock down the first domino on the road to a dystopia where big companies determine what, how and where you can spend your money.

Then there are the damned defeatists who prefer to watch everything go down the drain without even trying to fight for their rights. I'll even leave the link to the petition for them, so they can at least have the minimum decency to make the enormous effort to sign and contribute their grain of sand to this fight that could end up permanently redefining the virtual market.

Here you go.
