I just realized my attic is becoming quite full with old computers, every 2-3 years I tend to buy a new computer with latest and greatest hardware. Like i have just put away an 5800x3d computer with rtx3080 nvidia the other day, since I have upgraded to 7800x3d with 7900gre. I always keep my old computers, since I have a lot of room and no need to sell for funds. Does anyone have experience reselling computers? Do you keep the ssd's in or sell without? Is it actually worth selling? What prices would like my 3rd oldest system get it consists of a I9-11900k , 32gb, 1tb nvme ssd, with 6800xt amd. In a rgb case I don't know the name.
Coughs in 1660 ti lol

Wish I could help but used PCs here don't sell well specially game builds duo to lack of knowledge and because of that if you try to sell your computer they'll say you're scamming them

In my experience it's not really worth selling old PCs/parts for the money. You can rarely get anything decent. But it can be a good way to save yourself some storage, especially considering you can't just throw this stuff in the garbage bin. After a while it starts becoming harder to find an empty cupboard to store and forget your most recently obsolete device.

Finding a buyer for old PC parts can also be a hassle too, especially with the risk of people trying to scam you or just waste your time

i dont sell old pc's, i store for parts or destroy. i run my pc's like my cars, til new is more cost effective and or necessary. funny enough, my parts shelve has way better crap than my current rig. but i dont game or nor render anymore. i mean i dont really play sandbox vn's, what the hell do i need liquid cooling for.

Usually yeah. I tend to make a large portion of the money back. Comes down to buying used hardware in the first place, doing some specialties like cheap complete custom loop, taking good pictures, selling before hardware is unusable, etc. Once was a time I was building/selling PCs as a side job which I guess helps in experience on both cheap buying and selling.

I never do, my previous PC which i replaced in January last Year is still here next me and stays that way in case something bad happens with my current one, always done it this way.

Sell the CPU pieces because it sometimes give u twice the amount u would get by selling ur pc

It is a lot of headache to sell used parts as you feel some responsibility if the parts break during shipping or soon after the sale.

Have the same problem. But for me much easier to share some old hardwares with friends than trying to sell it

I generally keep them for parts? always good to have those, some i use to help fix others computers, some times i wanna build me a Retro PC, always useful,
