Is gameplay important to you?

A game should know what it wants to be. A story with gameplay or gameplay with a story.
Sadly most games don't know this and try to be more than they are. Hence needless grind in games and stats that aren't needed, endless waiting for the right days for events to turn up in so called "Sandbox" games.

It always depends on the gameplay elements. I think small puzzles to progress are ok, or even the odd mini-game, as long as you don't need a degree to understand the mechanics. Stats grind is not gameplay for me, but if the story itself is good, I can live with it.

I like gameplay because sometimes its fun to get to the scenes by playing the game BUT only if the game is not grindy then it just becomes annoying to get to the scenes and stuff
I couldn't have said it better myself, I think exactly the same thing.

It can go both ways, I don't mind gameplay, but overly grindy gameplay, for just a single sex scene, is too much for me.

For me game play is very important if not most important, not graphics it is all fantasy anyway. Like the Summer vacation game posted recently I really enjoy that game, but I also like most Visual Novels or Simulation games, if the built up towards erotic scenes is very slow. This is the best, also if there is a good and believable story.

I think my ideal game cares more about telling its story than having "gameplay". I like when games have choices that matter instead of needlessly grindy minigames to get money or train stats. Sandbox games are typically the worst offenders on that front, but not all are the same. I think kinetic or visual novels are preferable over trainers or sandbox, because if I want good gameplay I'll go play a regular game over an adult themed game. A lot of games can get too caught up in their gameplay to properly tell the story they're trying to tell and it can ruin the experience.

For me story is one of the most important aspects of a game. Sure, if the graphics are extremely good and the game is a fuck fest - i know I'm in for a ride.
But I prefer to read a good story and understand why characters are the way they are. If you can make choices in a game I want them to have impact to the story. Some games put choices in and in the end they never really matter.

Hillside is a game with an absolute wonderful setting, good story and writing. There is almost zero sexual stuff going on depending on the route you are playing but the game itself is worth the time if you are in for a good story game.

Gameplay is very important to me. There's other media where you can just get sex scenes. Good gameplay makes all the difference in games.

For me this will always be a hindsight situation cause it really depends on how well the story and gameplay is done.

I need some mechanism that it gameplay or story. Cant just be DAZ sex or RPG galleries

If the story is good enough, I think gameplay can be overlooked. Same can be said of gameplay exceeding expectations and outweighing other factors.
Example: my preference is for animation in AVNs, but Evenicle's gameplay still puts it in my top 5 list.

really depends good gameplay can be nice but its rare here, mostly just need to settle for good stories.

I find gameplay mechanics in lewdgames to be less important than other aspects.
I mostly play VN for a narrative component to the lewds, and as such dont feel the need the interact in click puzzles, qte's ect. Branching choices/dialogue/action is pretty much the only mechanics needed for a VN. Really not a fan of grinding as a gameplay loop, i'm nothing if not capable of doing repeated tasks for little or no reward, but i grinding out scenes feel soul crushing and something i would keep away from my lewd media. I'm not here to play quality games, i'm here to enjoy some fun lewd games and all that that entails.

If it involves gating scenest behind resources like stats, generally speaking it'll be more inconvenient than anything in my experience. Minigames can be hit-or-miss too depending on how often the game expects you to do them. Most anything else, like schedule systems, routes, and fetch quests tends to come down to how it's applied in terms of value.

This being said, the "kinetic novel" approach (nothing but a story and save slots) is always a valid option.

Oy. I cannot stand visual novels. Gameplay is everything. I have tried to play VNs, especially those recommended to me, especially those that are supposed to have everything I want but I just cannot get into them. Too much reading, not enough interaction.

Both are good, but it's very rare for a game to pull off the gameplay side while having pornography. I care much more about good writing than I do about gameplay considerations.

Koihime Musou was one of the few VNs that I liked the gameplay to or thought that didn't get the in way of the story. I would prefer to have as little gameplay as possible, because it often isn't very good.

It really depends on how I'm feeling but usually story and the characters are more important to me. If I want good gameplay I play some non-adult games.
