Is Die Hard a Christmas movie

[DoverDad]

I and my sister were arguing today about Is Die Hard a Christmas movie I think it is because she doesn't what do you think guys

[sbradbury28]

If its based around christmas its a christmas movie to me! despite bruce himself saying it isnt (at his Comedy Central Roast, may have just been a meme).

[Republican Bear]

Well on one hand it isn't and on the other hand it's set during X-Mas. So tough call but Bruce says this in his very own roast.

Its a Christmas Movie.
It is not a movie about Christmas.

Watch during christmas time, its a christmas movie. Watch it any other time, its a legendary classic. Either way Yippee Ki-yay

[Uncle Loco]

Yes any movie with a Christmas party is a Christmas movie.

[tobbybeeer]

100% Christmas Movie!

[cucumber3620]

If you want a really good Die Hard-esque movie that is explicitly a Christmas movie which has Santa taking on the John McLane role, check out Violent Night (2022). I highly recommend it!

[Republican Bear]

Fun Fact the movie was released in July. Just for reference it wasn't released as a Xmas movie.

[Tosser]

Yippi-kai-yeah, mother fucker - it is.

[Arachel]

Any movie that uses a specific holiday as it's setting and that setting is important in some way shape or form is a movie for that Holiday. The original Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Waiting for Santa Clause was released in the summer, going to say that wasn't released as a Christmas movie too? Miracle on 34th Street was released in June as well.

[Republican Bear]

Well all 11 of you are wrong according to the man who made the movie. I'll take his opinion with more weight then random posters.

Once the art is out in the world people are allowed to interpret it as they see fit regardless of the original intention.

basically that, like the gif/jif situation, the creator isn't always correct

100% gif not jif. The g stands for graphics thus the acronym should have the same g sound as far as I'm concerned.
