AI is just not creative, but it can be a great tool to generate pictures, I am not an artist I cannot draw, but AI allows me to create some manga like comic pictures. I started using it today and feel like an artist although many would deem my pictures generated by AI just breaking copyright. Since it seems to be trained by manga comics. Does this make me a creator or user? I put in the terms but I don't feel like a creator I feel like a user of a program that draws pictures. But I decide the keywords used to create so without my influence the pictures don't exist. Also the AI can create 50 pictures and only 1-2 of them seem worth keeping.

You can use AI to put some art on the walls of a museum as a backdrop for what the characters are doing, you don't try to generate scenes with it. It's fucking terrible at it. Look at the disaster 'Parasite Black' turned into when they tried to switch from drawn art to AICG. Utter worthless slop and it's even more painfully obvious when contrasted to the actual art they haven't purged yet.

Lots of people use it for filler, or one-off places like "dark alley where MC gets mugged" that don't matter beyond the vibe. That's fine.

The problem with liking AI= is that people that actually like AI are in a basically a lose - lose proposition.
I personally think that AI is in its "Dial Up Internet Phase." Give it 25 years and ask again. Now here's the lose-lose:

If in 25 years, AI still sucks, people will go "We TOLD you that only a human being can do art, stories, etc... to a proper degree! Humanity first!" (yeah, I stole that last part from X-men)

If in 25 years, AI equals or surpasses humans EVEN IN creative things like art, pictures, stories etc... , people will go "OMG! AI is as good or better than humans! We're losing our jobs! WE'RE BEING REPLACED!"

So the answer to AI content is... humanity sucks...

50 years ago AI was going to take over the world. And 30 years ago. And 10 years ago. It will still be "going to take over the world" long after we're dead and buried. Turns out that throwing a bunch of words in a blender to make plagarism slurry doesn't give something a spark of creativity. At best you can tell it to "do X, as Y" where X and Y are both things that humans created that are well-known enough that they have a statistical influence on the model.

It's way too inconsistent with artwork. But I can see how it can be useful for writing feedback, proofreading etc.

even stuff that "should" be well within its capabilities has proven impossible. Image upscaling without batshit insane hallucinations, retiming already existing videos to a different frame rate, etc. It's a fundamental limitation of the statistical blender model they're using for machine generated content and no amount of ever-larger GPU farms is going to fix it.

The other fundamental limitation of machine gen is statistical centering: It all looks the same because that's the most common source image. It's why wineglasses are half full even if you prompt them to be "overflowing": the wineglass token maps to an image of wine in a glass, and that's never depicted as overflowing so you can never get it out. Great for plagiarizing something that already exists, useless for novel ideas. You're not going to get porn positions that weren't scanned from hustler because thats the extent of the conceptual world you're exploring.
