It has been too long but Farscape, Firefly, or Battlestar Galactica remake with Katee. A continuation of the original almost happened and didn't because of 911, the sets were even built. Richard and Dirk were coming back to play Apollo and Starbuck. Now Richard Hatch has passed away and Dirk is older than Dirt and doesn't act anymore.

For me the 3 worst TV show endings ever (only count ones I watched)

3rd worst (garbage medal) - Seinfeld. Everyone goes to prison for violating a law that doesn't exist anywhere in the US. Not funny ending to what was a funny show
2nd worst (vomit medal) - St Elsewhere - the ENTIRE show was the imagination of a retarded kid. Quite a few seasons and the last few episodes a history going back to like the 1930s
worst (shit medal) - Alf - Ends on a cliffhanger - then show cancelled. They did a TV movie that sort of explained in the late 90s, but nobody cared by then
Dishonorable mention - Newhart.

Not exactly an extension but more a do-over, I would actually but Stargate SG-1 there. I did not like how the series ended, even with the two movies that tied up the series.

But if I could give any finisehd show a whole extra season, it would be Xena: Warrior Princess
