Oftentimes the plot is what makes the porn great, and without it there's just not as much going for it. Imagine Eternum without the incredible plot and lovable characters, it's just the best rendering ever done with HS2 (bad example but you know what I mean, good writing can elevate even already good work)

Yeah. there are some rare exceptions, but usually if there's no plot to speak off the game just feels bland and boring most of the time.

Agreed. Sometimes the sex scenes (especially when initiated by the LIs) feel so sudden that it breaks immersion. I understand that not every encounter needs a deep motive and that, as a dev, you have to meet a certain 'lewd quota,' but still…

I was thinking about this the other day and wondering if its why i enjoy porn games so much. sex without buildup just does nothing for me and porn games scratch that itch of a slow build up too the naughty parts. Wondering if anyone ever shared this thought with me because i always hear online most people skip the story on porn videos?

excellent question why porn games are so attractive, perhaps because of the story and path that we could never have or powers or simply because they don't have the pain of the real world. (people full of personal interests).

Good writing can defenitivly cover for lack of graphics or Sex-scenes and there have been a few games that won me over on writing alone, but I think there still needs to be a balance.

Ideally neither the Porn nor the Story feels tacked on.

Personally I just wanted to enjoy the content of the game, and rarely the story.

I would just skip the chatterbox and just searching the H-content.

But once in the blue moon, a H-Game with good story appear and I enjoy every second of it.

I think it's a "Mezzo Forte" situation pretty often, as in, the people have an idea, but they need a hook, and porn serves as a good hook, it becomes a necessary evil, if you don't gain attention, the project is dead in the water, porn beckons in enough people to gain funding to keep the project going.
