Came in, had to play catchup. But first had to clean so I could work. Then I had to help the front out cause someone was late. eventually I got half my job done before I had to help the front close. Thus, tomorrow will also suck. And that's assuming nothing new goes wrong, which is not a good assumption lol

Just the "out doing shit" to "home and settling" is a big shift, a lot of chemistry has to change. Good things wearing off, able to feel the tired/pain/stress you couldn't while busy, brain finally getting into a self=reflective state vs active, etc. Just getting home can really fuck you up for an hour or two

Rather annoying day at work, discovered something we used to buy for 50 dollars with a 2-3 day turn around is now 5,000$ with a 6 month wait. That... complicates things, just a little.

Yeah, the last couple months have been a bit of a mess. We're trying to deal with workaround vendors, but one is in Korea, one is in Germany, and neither is great at returning emails so it is involving a bit of flailing around trying get shit done.

It's so unbelievably frustrating when all you want is to be able to do your fucking job well. And then some systematic thing happens that you have zero power to control and you just have to hope that someone up/sideways in the structure will actually do something.

A shortage, a bottleneck in the supply line, some other prerequisite you don't even know is involved could be fucking everything up, equipment/facility damage/closure, labor strike, market manipulation.... list goes on, I'm sure

Not entirely sure of the underlying cause (plenty of hypotheses up above), but something we use went from a regularly stocked thing, to requiring a custom production run just for us. So they'd have to tool up and devote a couple techs just to us, rather than just grabbing it off a shelf.
