How important is an engaging storyline to you?

You go and talk to a woman/man because he/she is physically attractive, then you stay because his/her personality and story interest you. The same goes for games.

Completely agree. If the game looks bad I probably won't even try it, and if the writing/story isn't good enough I will drop it pretty quickly.

Both are important but I'd say graphics. If it's a cartoon I'm not interested at all - that goes for non-adult games , too. I don't like anime/manga/other bullshit. Has to be a good story, but if it isn't at least somewhat realistic looking I don't play.

I need both unless it's just one of those real short games made just for the hell of it. If I have to wade through hours upon hours of even decent story just to get to 5 or 6 good scenes, I'm out.

For me graphics are the far more important thing, however there is a minimum requirement if I am going to return to a game, that minimum is bland, not bad, just bland. If the story/writing is activly bad I will not be returning or maybe not even fap to it.

The story has to be good so that I keep coming back to see whats next when a update drops
I think audio like music is also key

There are some gfx I cant handle, not gonna go into all the details, so I check the screenshots before judging, but only after Ive read about the game.

Some play for the intrigue, the well-developed characters, the suspense, being drawn into a VN or game, compelled to keep playing just to find out what happens next. Others play for visual stimulation, fascinating art that shows you things you ordinarily would seldom or never see. A well-made adult game knits those media together seamlessly, creating a complete package that takes the player on an escapist journey to parts unknown where angels fear to tread. But if you only had access to games with great art but uninteresting stories or great stories but crappy artwork, which would you prefer? What first attracted you to these games, and why do you continue playing them hour after hour? Which is more important, the story or the art?

As for me, I'm more visually oriented. I appreciate a well-crafted story, but I play these games primarily to enjoy the artwork.
All of the above

Both are important, but I've dropped more games because of bad stories than I have because of bad graphics. OTOH there are definitely games with mediocre graphics that I've kept playing because the story was good.

Though there's one important caveat to that point-- you don't know if a story is catastrophically bad until you play the game. OTOH, you can tell just from a game thread here if the graphics are bad, and most people probably aren't downloading the games with bad graphics in the first place.

Depending on the mood I'm in, I can either burn 3 hours on a grindy sandbox, or I could attempt to push my ctrl button through my desk trying to get where I forgot to make a save point before closing a window.

For the most, it's about 50/50 for story/images. If the dialogue is too much work to decipher, I rely on the images to get me through.

If all that fails me, I'd be finding something else at LC's + section 👌

🐂💨

Definitely the story. I mean I play free cities and I played it even before it had visuals to begin with. I will say, if the game does have graphics, I want to be at least somewhat decent. Even just generic-ish models are fine if the story is good. I think there was even some game called like “the sculptor” or something (which was abandoned) that I liked because of the writing and i think it had borderline stick figures.

Perhaps but she doesn't have to be a perfect 10.

Actually I think some kind of flaw is attractive and makes a person more interesting.

If you accept that women who aren't a perfect 10 are still worth talking to, then the pool enlarges considerably and then her personality and story are becoming actually way more important than her looks.
And that is how things should be.

When it comes to games, I am mostly interested in the story and in lewd situations. For pure visuals, real porn is nearly impossible to beat, but what real porn is bad in, is in setting a credible atmosphere and creating something that's believable. For example, 99% of incest porn is fake as fuck but in VN's it can be pretty believable.

Graphics for me, because ultimately it is a porn game. while a bad story is probably going to get me to drop a game, I can put up with some level of incompetent, or not very believable writing, whereas I'm not going to stick around for any level of art I don't find at least mostly good.
I think in the same way. I can ignore bad story for a while if the graphics are really good. Or because its a porn in worst case scenario i just skip through

It would be both for me and also the animation and everything has to be smooth

I also sy story. Graphic should be nice so it doesn't hurt the eyes, but the massive high resolution 20000k maximum hd pictures just increase the file size, not the quality IMO.

Well, both are important. If you have a game to good art but not a history is bored, if it is the other way... well... Its how you pass from hot to cold. If you know what I mean.

I mean, visual novels need to have good visuals as that is part of the way to actually tell their stories imo. A good story that has good smut can be ruined by terrible visuals.
