You go and talk to a woman/man because he/she is physically attractive, then you stay because his/her personality and story interest you. The same goes for games.
Completely agree. If the game looks bad I probably won't even try it, and if the writing/story isn't good enough I will drop it pretty quickly. You go and talk to a woman/man because he/she is physically attractive, then you stay because his/her personality and story interest you. All of the aboveSome play for the intrigue, the well-developed characters, the suspense, being drawn into a VN or game, compelled to keep playing just to find out what happens next. Others play for visual stimulation, fascinating art that shows you things you ordinarily would seldom or never see. A well-made adult game knits those media together seamlessly, creating a complete package that takes the player on an escapist journey to parts unknown where angels fear to tread. But if you only had access to games with great art but uninteresting stories or great stories but crappy artwork, which would you prefer? What first attracted you to these games, and why do you continue playing them hour after hour? Which is more important, the story or the art?
As for me, I'm more visually oriented. I appreciate a well-crafted story, but I play these games primarily to enjoy the artwork.

I think in the same way. I can ignore bad story for a while if the graphics are really good. Or because its a porn in worst case scenario i just skip throughGraphics for me, because ultimately it is a porn game. while a bad story is probably going to get me to drop a game, I can put up with some level of incompetent, or not very believable writing, whereas I'm not going to stick around for any level of art I don't find at least mostly good.
Well, both are important. If you have a game to good art but not a history is bored, if it is the other way... well... Its how you pass from hot to cold.
