How do you remember what's been happening in between updates?

I play most games as soon as an update drops, so the plot is still fresh in my mind and I don't have time to forget the important details. Unless it's a game like BaD that take over a year for each update. In that case I just do a fresh run

I only trust my memory and in case I forget because sometimes it increases after 4 or 6 months then play first because if I played it before it means that the game is good

Since I play a heap of games, it can be hard to remember. And with updates sooo far apart on some of em (looking at you Summer's Gone and Being A DIK), it's just easier to wait for several updates of a game I like , before playing it again. I also ten to replay all of it, with some skipping. Worth it.

Either there's a recap or I start a new game and skip through the parts I still remember well.

Thats the neat part :) i don't !

Nearly all the time restart from the beginning of a game with a sense of Deja Vu, or if I have played it recently and can remember the plot from the latest save point if a vailable.

Sometimes I replay the game from the beginning or from a save to get back into the story.

I'm decent at rememebering the broad strokes, but i ran into the issue where after the new update i wouldn't know the names of the characters and it ended up with me being very confused.

So now i only update them once a year unless they got completed earlier.

Like most said. If its a game where I remember liking the story, I replay from the start.
If not, just start playing and try to remember as I go along. Most of them don´t really have a story so you don't lose too much.

When it's long and I don't, I try to go along and remember as it goes along. I'll be fucked if I'm starting over when it's been a long play. When the dev fucks around and old saves don't work I normally delete.

I usually dont have any issues. But i think that's because the games plot isn't crazy and convoluted like lost or game of thrones or something. Most porn games plot is very shallow (your dad died and now your mom and sister needs to get dicked down for some reason)

Depends on the length of time in between, if it is tooo long I have to play back a save or two

I have good memory and most games I've played are made with Ren'py, so what I do is create a save every once in a while (usually at the start of any new scene or anything that might provide context) as a way to refresh. Depending on the game I can have anywhere from single digit to double digit save pages but I can just scroll through them and remember everything I need to from the thumbnails.

Very often I start a new playthrough, especially if the update-cycle is rather long.

Honestly I don't remember, specially because I like to wait for stack up on a fea updates for me to play again, so most of the time I either stay absolutely lost at what's happening or I simply restart
