How do you remember what's been happening in between updates?

My brain is dumb and remembers a lot of (arguably) pointless shit. So I guess in this case....yay?

big things I'll remember. If I like the game enough and its been a while I'll go back a save or two, or worst case restart to try and refresh myself

Not hard if it's only like 2 months. Now when it's 6 months or more it's hard. If it's like a fucking year, forget it.

I usually forget until one minor line and then it all comes flooding back Vietnam flashback style.

Depends on how good the game is, also I will replay games that I don't fully remember myself.

Honestly most of these games don't have that compelling of a story to begin with. Or else they're trying to make it so needlessly complex. In either case, not remembering doesn't really affect much.

If i cannot remember it wasnt worth remembering.

There are very few games i consider worth my time and those i got memorized.

What do you mean how? I'm just remember, you know things.😁

If it's been over a year I'll probably replay it, but if not I'll just rely on my memory.

I have a good memory, but even then the immersion might be (too much) gone if updates take too long. I would most likely start waiting for the game to have more updates (or be finished) before starting at the beginning again.

i usually just start a brand new game lol

I generally make several saves as I go along. If the update time-interval is so long that I forgot what happened, I load the next to last save (or even one before that) and sort of play a recap.
Having several saves also has the advantage in that on more than once, the last save has generated an error, and sometimes loading an earlier save has prevented having to start afresh.

sometimes. if there's long time between updates i might start over and just spam click through to get a recap.

If updates are quick enough, its a non issue

If I'm into the game, then I would rmber, but if not, then sometimes I would just start over the game and skip through to get a recap

I sometimes don't even remember what I did last week, not even that I already posted in here. 😅

There's no problem. I track few projects (9 to be exact) and I'm very picky about a game's story. Games with a weak story are ruthlessly sent to the trash bin. So, given the very small number of projects that interest me, and given that the storyline in them is well-developed, I don't have any memory problems:)

I've played the same game for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th time. Now, after a certain point, I remember what happened in that game. Naturally, it is very difficult to remember a game that I have only played once, unless its story or storylines affect me very much. You are not alone.

Does anyone else have issues remembering what's going on with each character/story etc in between updates for games?

Do people go as far and make a few notes etc to make it easier to pick the game back up, or just rely on a good memory? Maybe just re-play from beginning each time?

Just as an example - I've just recently played a game called The Lost Love for the first time in a few updates and although I remember really enjoying the game first time round, I can't actually remember what is going on with like half the characters and so the experience just isn't the same as when I played from the start.

I usually wait until a game has a bunch of content.

Then I play through all of it.

If it is good, I will return and do another fresh playthrough when it is Completed.

Otherwise, I'll just move on. There are so many great games, and so little time to try them all.

I don't, I lose interest. Sometimes I replay it.

Often I just extract the .rpa files, and look at the updated images...
