Here's a message/progress update from Raventhunder's Patreon as of this morning:
"Hi everyone, as I mentioned to some of you earlier in messages, I’m going through some IRL issues. It’s nothing too serious, but it’s affecting my focus on the game, making some things that shouldn’t take much time end up taking much longer... especially the writing part. The section I was working on with the secondary characters is done and includes the biggest scene I’ve ever created. That scene alone has about 200 renders. What’s left is the other part with the additional scenes for the main story (ch2).
When it’s just dialogue between characters, it’s easier because at some point they take on a life of their own, and their actions and lines flow naturally as I write. But this part is a bit different. It has some tricky parts to bring to life from the draft, you'll see what I mean once you play. I really need to mentally focus on production, and the delay brings guilt, which makes it even harder to focus. I know waiting sucks... but I have to ask for your patience. I’m still working on it every day, and there’s not much left to finish.
One big weakness of mine is communication (I’m like this IRL too, I’m not much of a talker, lol). I'm being more active on discord, I also should be communicating better here, sharing more updates, etc. I tend to hold back too much to avoid spoilers, and that ends up leaving me with little to share. Later this week, I’ll make a render preview post for those who don’t mind spoilers. I think a lot of people want to see a glimpse of what’s coming.
I’ve also decided to include one of those progress charts starting with the next release. It’s a good way to show development without revealing spoilers.
About my setup: Last month, I got a new GPU, the 4080. I was really surprised by the improvement over my previous one. The main reason for the upgrade was the VRAM, which was no longer enough for some scenes with many girls. Render times themselves were only an issue when it came to animations. I’ve already made some really hot animations with the new GPU, and you’ll notice a significant improvement in FPS, resolution, and quantity starting with this next release.
I didn’t expect this update to take so long. If I can’t finish it by the end of the month, I’ll pause the donation cycle for a month. It won’t take more than that for the release to be ready.
And please, I’m not going to stop working on the game. I’ve never once thought about abandoning this project since I started it... I love these characters and their universe. There’s so much cool stuff I have planned in drafts, and I can’t wait to bring it to life.
