Games straight to point or games you have to grind?

Games that go straight to the point are often boring or short (or both). I like sandbox games, and some games have nice in game mechanics, puzzle like, or even fighting with good mechanics or is just fun to see.

But then, there are those games..... those games that you have to pass like 30 in game days to grind money to buy some shit to advance the plot that is held by game logic (i need a ladder, even though i can just jump over the fence). Those are just a slog, those just eat up your time. Some devs even make it difficult or just not possible to skip that grind, or to cheat or alter the game save. Making any investment in the plot or art just banish (for me)

It has to be a healthy middle point, not to slow, not too grindy. If there is grind, it has to be somewhat fun

i am an old school rpger so bring on the grind

I like grindy gameplay loops. Jack-O-Nine is one of my top 5 adult games. RPG games broke me.

I'd say grind, but the 'gameplay moments' in between have to be substantial, or the grind should be through scenes / events

Depends entirely on the writing. I'd hope the story/gameplay is compelling enough that you want to keep playing and leads you to the rewards. It's not interesting to get everything handed to you.

sometimes I'm in the mood for more grindy games as you don't really need to think much while you play and barely any reading, but most of the time it's just a time sink

A slow paced depraved sexually charged game where as the protagonist you carefully but realistically wear down your target/s defences and change your targets morals and ethics until this being transforms from a complete innocent to a complete and utter sex pet.

I like something in the middle, corruption is my favorite tag so when everything happens from the start it gets boring for me, but some games go crazy with the grind, in the end I have a life to live, and I won't dedicate several hours of my free time just to see some action.

I agree with most of the people here. If you have a long and repetitive task, that's no good, but I want more than just straight to the point, otherwise I would go see a video.

Neither.
One of the best things are the teasing and the gradually increasing acts between the characters, but the grindfest that a lot of games have is awful.
I want each scene to be a little more daring than the last, not every scene just the same while giving you +1 point to pass a later check.

Hey,
what type of games do you prefer?
I can't really make up my mind about that topic.
Sometimes I like when you don't have to do anything at all to get to the lewd scenes in games and other times I like when you have to work for your pleasure. It feels more satisfying then for me.
Two of my favorite games are OSiL and Bernd and the mystery from Unteraltenbach.
OSiL is really straight forward and a pleasure to play but for Bernd to get the girls he likes you have to work hard and fight through numerous Game Over screens if you messed it up.
But if you finally hook up with the girl, the excitement is even bigger for me.
So, a quick fap or pleasent anticipation? What do you think?
I like a game that is in the middle or have a mix of easy to hard conquest, but it need to have a good story too and not super easy and/or not a KN, that just porn and you want porn just go to a porn site. games need choices.

I like my games to have easy to access scenes, but still somewhat meaningful substance. So I guess a mixture of straight to the point and grind c:
At least grind-heavy games can usually be somewhat alleviated with cheat engine. Something too straight to the point with absolutely 0 substance can get pretty boring. Could essentially become a CG viewer, at which point you might as well read doujins or browse image boards

I definitely prefer straight to the point. Can deal with some grind sometimes but not a ton. If I can't get decent middle ground I'll still go through something that's basically a scene viewer but will avoid a grindfest.

It's a fine balance that's a challenge for any developer. Too slow you may loose interest and start skipping forward. Too fast you lose that anticipation which makes it worth it. Not easy.

Straight to the point, any otherwise, the story must be pretty damn good for me to not care about the dreaded horny :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: (BUT, the payoff NEEDS to be satisfying)

I prefer straight to the point, becose after a while you learn the clichés and many games become similar
but if the story is good and "colorful" I have no problem waiting or working hard to get those scenes

I can appreciate both types depending upon what I'm feeling at the time.
Most of the time though I prefer some meat to the story. I also tend to lean towards Harem games and I think more devs should take a balanced approach.
In a harem game you have the ability to offer both to the player.
Toss a LI right away to the MC, it can be an established relationship before the game even starts to cut off the need for buildup. Then you can start introducing more LI's with a mix of pursuit.
I think Grandma's house does slightly use this, Tosses a bunch at the MC but then has a few where there is actual build up.

If all the content gets thrown at me at once I'll get bored of it. I like to work for it.

Definitely depends on context. But everything just thrown at you at the start is meh. I liked A house in the Rift gives you a good taste to start then bumps the breaks has good build up
