Most definitely my favorite genre. I don't have anything in addition to what has already been mentioned. However, I like the guardian the most.

Amnesia and PhotoHunt are great in that sense, and they also have a very good development in the relationship.

Midlife Crisis. It's rough at the start but it gets much better.

Desert Stalker: It has very good animations, a great post-apocalyptic setting and a good story.
Photo Hunt: a great game with variety of girls and really good animations

But apart from that it's a general "cookie cutter" blandness that does little for me. They look like the come off an assembly line. And, they sort of do.

I try to tend to think of them as actresses doing multiple different roles in different games. An evolution of the intent that the developers had for Aki Ross from that Final Fantasy movie. She was meant to be the first ever digital actress. But now there are dozens of them all over the VN space.

I really like inceton's games though there season 2 of lust theory was something else. Hope season 3 is better.
