I'm going to vent a bit and hope for some validation here.

One of my biggest pet peeves is a visual novel where you have to click on a response/choice BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE CHOICE!!!! What the actual fuck is that?!? Seriously, think about it. You are clicking along enjoying the dialogue waiting for either a fappable moment or a decision to be made by choosing an option and then there is a single choice...why? What possible reason could a developer have to interrupt dialogue and place an unavoidable and meaningless choice so you have to click on it? It hurts my brain just thinking about it...

Yeah, that's annoying... There's a lot of games out there that are ambitious projects too that have a "future karma system" but as is, your choices mean nothing and even very different dialog options lead to the same path. IMO, why even have a decision if there's no branching path from it. Maybe it's just a placeholder, or maybe the dev just wants to show off the different quippy dialog options they put in. Idk, but I agree, disrupts the flow. If there's not a payoff or a tangible difference then there really shouldn't be a prompt. It's not a QTE... also, please don't make a porn game with quick time events... reaction time is not what I'm focusing on here. That said, this is turning into a rant but... Porn games that have minigames that require significant interaction and accuracy are also annoying, sitting here trying to click the fast moving little button while my main-hand is already occupied... Gonna have to start from square one by the time I get through the minigame.

Not really sure tbh... usually different choices have different paths but if there isnt even a different choice whats the point? If theres 2 choices that lead the same direction it could be the author is giving the player a certain way to respond but then again. not sure.

Choices in VN or any rpg games which offers agency to the player is essentially a work multiplier for any dev, consider Radiant for instance, you have three primary girls that can be taken a long three primary routes (Pure, Lust, Dark) - that leaves nine different possible routes alone, with variations and interactions along the way.

So choices are well and good, but in the end it just means longer between updates and possibly more shallow character developments.

But yeah, non-choices are obnoxious.

I guess by definition they'd mostly be in the Games+ section so I will have to wait to look them up later, if I get there.

I admit to being surprised at how pervasive the incest stuff is in the AVN genre (though I was also surprised and confused at some others as well, this has been quite an adventure). I think it has gotten out of hand though, dev's are throwing that in just to milk that tag on games where it wasn't necessary. I don't mean to sound like I'm moralizing or anything. Its just a kink I don't have, and you can only play so many father/daughters games before it gets boring if thats not your thing. (The "definable relationship" fig leaf doesn't cover up the familial dynamics of the story.)

Anyway, where are the stories away from home out in the world, like the scandals on the news? Teacher/student, Scout groups, coach/athlete, religious leaders/youths, shelter worker/homeless teens. I'd imagine they'd go with the light/dark paths, where you could be abusive and exploitative, or more wholesome (but still exploitative). Do these games exist and are just being drowned out by all the incest stuff?

Monster College would be one example (though I don't recommend it). Long Road Home could be too, ignoring the 2nd degree incest. I just played through Friends In Need, that counts for it (though with the hint of incoming incest, with the sister coming to visit soon.)

I'd also want them to not be sandbox, no NTR or at least light and avoidable, Daz/Ren'Py (I don't really like the HS art styles, or the K_ one), not Furry, and not AI generated.

Sweet Affection has some sweet (and I mean sweet and caring) mother, daughter, MC.

Corruption by Mr. C has some sweet (and this time I mean awesome and raunchy) mother daughter with multiple different couples as well as some mother daughter MC and some mother daughter grandmother MC. Older renders and a dialogue that's not quite English, as even the developer admits.

Nympho Tamer is a more recent game making positive waves. A lot of the scenes are mother daughter MC.

Keep an eye on Taffy Tales, as it is wending its way there and might get there in about 18 months or so.

There's some others I can think of, but could you share what makes a great mother-daughter scene in your opinion? Then maybe we could narrow down.
