Overview:
When Mark's wife dies suddenly, leaving him to care for their twin daughters, he falls into a deep depression. Two years later, Mark is still suffering and struggling to keep his job. When his sister invites him and the girls on a family trip to the tropics, his daughters talk him into accepting, in hopes that this is what will finally snap him out of his funk. Little do they all know, this trip is fated to bring even more loss to them all. Will this disaster bring them all closer together, or finally break them apart?

there is a change in the chars, you cant just change the cast mid way in

I have this same error, playing on windows, fresh start

I Used Unren to have access to the source files, bad_flashback is never defined anywhere

I dont understand how some people have it working, maybe with a defferent download

EDIT: I re downloaded and the error goes away, but there is no flashback at that point

If you used the option to enable the console/developer menu, that would be why you got the error and others didn't. Developer mode will show errors that would otherwise just get automatically skipped without it enabled.

Yeah I agree with this. I played through this and then went through the original again. Everyone knows what happened to it so its not like we wouldn't be understanding when all the characters suddenly look slightly different. There might need to be a quick quiz at the beginning to establish any choices from the existing game. Redoing the whole thing from the start puts us at at least 2 years from now before the story picks up where it left off.
Is the dev going to be able to keep up his motivation for that long while the fanbase is complaining that nothing new is happening...?

Why not? This is just wasting time and effort that would be more appreciated by giving us something new. The character designs are similar enough and the names are the same that all he'd have to do is give a short recap and encourage newbies to check out Our Island first. Every time a dev does a remake of old content, it drives their fans crazy! This is basically doing the same thing. I enjoyed Our Island, but not enough to wait forever for it to happen again unless this dev will actually have something happen that's more interesting than before.

Yeah I dunno that seems like cope on his part. If I had to guess he's gonna throw in scenes where the MC goes a bit further with the girls than the original and that's it. I doubt this actually goes past the material he's 1 to 1 remaking with worse graphics lol.

you can not compare file sizes on different servers.

I've seen servers give a MB size when actually reporting MiB and vice versa but thats a merely two diff ways of reporting the estimated number of bytes. if they giv e exact byte count thats THE byte count and it does not change no matter how or where its uploaded. checksums wouldnt work if files changed based on where they're uploaded

checksums are calculated based on a file's exact binary content not the reported size of the file space it takes up on any given system / hardware

i missed that this was a remake then got confused when there was no saves and it only went as far as the prolog thought it was the old game.... still an exiting reboot looking forward to it

Anybody able to get the mac version working? Doesn't properly install on my mac..I Unzip it and its just a folder of a bunch of things...maybe I'm unpacking it wrong?

Some of the subfolders in the package seem to have bad permissions set. In terminal, navigate to the location of the game and enter: sudo chmod -R 777 ./

That fixed it for me.

Gotta be honest, would've liked it more if it was based on Our Island but still did it's own thing instead of recreating it scene for scene. As it is it's just a remake with less content, fewer choices and slightly worse visuals. Hopefully it continues the story where the old game left off but I recently replayed Our Island and this felt less like a modern retelling and more like a knockoff. I know it's early days so I am certainly not writing it off yet but first impressions are lukewarm. It's certainly not bad, but it doesn't yet justify it's existence.

Some original content would help to showcase what can be expected if/when we get beyond the original story. It would also give people a reason to play this over replaying the original.

I'm pretty sure the dev plans to continue on where the old game left off. It's sort of a tribute, so it wouldn't make much sense to me if it was a different story from the start. But that's just my opinion.

and It was rumored to close but main mod caved and decided to keep it running.
But something seems stale about it now, can't put my finger on it, but it feels like all the enthusiasm is gone (still has Christmas background up its almost August)
and real participation is down or depressed or something.
Like it's hard for ME to find anything new or exciting there.. maybe it's just me.

But if your a new-bee perv, you will find a great source of links to manga, uncensored video clips (hope you like way too much Sarah), game mods and assets if you are into making stuff or plenty of chat options if you want to make friends or get into spicy conversation with people of a VERY wide variety of persuasions, kinks, and politics.
I truly hope it doesn't go away as it represents a community who are free to express their desires amongst peers who accept and celebrate that we are all different and yet all the same, Fallen in the eyes of the repressed and controlled.
