Thank you!

Brave for browsing the internet, WinRAR for dealing with compressed files, Notepad++ for programming and annotations, Agent Ransack for file searching, qBitorrent for torrenting, JDownloader2 for various downloading and Photoshop for image editing.
That's, I think, are all the programs I always have installed on my computer.

Oh and make sure you get an AdBlock extension for whatever browser you use. Ublock Origin on chrome is what I use. Life changing if you have never used one before. You will forget what ads are.

For tweaks: Watch the video:

You must be registered to see media
Don't do anything you're not comfortable with.
All the programs have a little question mark next to them that will take you to the apps website

I just got a new computer and really dont know what i need to have on it

what are yalls favorite apps
Things that come to mind:

Firefox (web browser) is in a great spot, you should try it out.
GPU-Z if you plan on doing any resource-heavy activities, such as 3D, games or AI.
LibreOffice is a great alternative to Microsoft Office.
A portable version of Photoshop for basic use (CS6 is everywhere), or GIMP.
Python (I use 3.8 with VisualStudioCode)
Emulators. I'm using Bluestacks and it's going pretty well.
Steam if you play games.
OBS/Streamlabs if you're planning on recording/streaming anything you do on your PC.
Spotify.
Discord.
Whatever torrent client you like, if you plan on torrenting.
VPN if you need one. I won't recommend any because it always sparks discussion.

Use Brave and you won't need AdBlock. 😎

Apparently this one is also good, I think you should see which one you like best.
Brave is Chromium based, so every Chrome extension can be installed, and I don't really like FireFox.

What is Python for?
I googled it, but it seems too complicated and for experts.

Use Brave on my phone but for not on desktop. I guess it was just due to laziness with saved passwords etc.

If you use Chrome you can just sync your accounts. If not, you can export the passwords to a .csv file and import them in Brave.

It's a (very general) programming language. You might need to install it to run a few apps even if you don't use it to actively code or develop stuff.
Don't sweat it though, if you think you don't need it just skip it.

WinRar, LibreOffice, Brave browser, Epic Privacy browser, Opera, Notepad++, Paint.net, Faststone Imege Viewer, PotPlayer, uTorrent, Hard Disk Sentinel Pro. I do not use Photoshop, in my case it would be shooting from a cannon at sparrows, for simple image editing I have Paint.net.
