I can't remember the last time I felt part of a community all trying to achieve a goal like this. As crazy as it is, I haven't been on a forum where everyone is talking positively in a long while. Most of my online interaction now sadly consists of conflict on Reddit. When and what online community was the last that you felt like this?

That's actually a very honest take. Yes, I was quite frustrated when seeing the new rules. However, the people's encouragement has been really surprising. Especially in my introduction thread.

yeah now that you think about it i started thinking of when forums were the shit. with new stuff you're trading familiarity and bonding with faster and more frequent new and different things

i feel like everything nowadays is "evolving" towards shortcircuiting your brain through easy dopamine through lightning fast novelty... but although that is inherently pleasing, it doesn't make it a good thing

I think it's that everyone on this site has a common shared interest combined with more rewards for likes gives an incentive to not be overly combative in differing opinions
