  • Unfortunately, ATF is shutting down.
It’s genuinely sad to see it go.

If you’re joining us from ATF, welcome to LewdCorner. Please read our rules here: LewdCorner Rules

Does this remind anyone else of the old internet?

I can't remember the last time I felt part of a community all trying to achieve a goal like this. As crazy as it is, I haven't been on a forum where everyone is talking positively in a long while. Most of my online interaction now sadly consists of conflict on Reddit. When and what online community was the last that you felt like this?

What game do you have the most grinding on in your life?
Yeah, sadly it's a lot of conflict everywhere on the internet. But sometime you can find a little confort in some communities.

I haven't spent this much time online since I first discovered that Windows95 was actually better than its Microsoft predecessors (am I really that old?!). It was the first time that I had a pc that didn't crash every 5 minutes, or blue-screened whenever I tried to go online :ROFLMAO:

Ah the good old days. I remember when every computer tower was beige for some reason.

.....and had a power supply that overheated, and smelled horrid as the transformer windings melted 😖

When people bring up "old internet," my mind immediately jumps to the Numa Numa guy

Man I think it's a really good sign honestly. Like, we have a couple of trolls, true, but also most people came together behind a common goal. A bit surprising.

Yeah it's pretty crazy but I'm happy to be a part of it. Too bad I can't ever tell anyone irl about this experience

The last time I was in a forum of any type was back in the mid 2000s, just before Facebook became a thing. It was a different time back then, to be sure. This really does feel like those old internet days, though. Back in the days when people gathered in their little corners of the internet because they shared common interests, before the TikToks and the Youtubes and the algorithms shoving corporate-sponsored nonsense into our faces 24/7...

Hold on, I need to chase some kids off my lawn

Nothing brings people together like adversity. Reminds me of when Dad would bring me camping and when it rained we'd stay in the tent playing hide the pickle. Miss you Dad.

Dont forget to yell at clouds, too.

I used to be more in the habit of being active on forums, but the super corporate data harvesting shit basically killed my joy for that. Facebook is kind of the dividing line of an age.

I remember using dialup to play MUDs back around 95. I'm ancient haha.

It gave me nostalgia vibes from spending a lot of time on a few browser games. ie; Omerta (Barafranca)

I was more active on forums when views were more mild too. Like I alluded to in my original post, there seems to be more conflict now. Maybe just because forums are larger

There was a funny thing from a youtuber a while back: Even if you only have 99.99% non-assholes in your audience, if you have a million people following you, that's still a lot of assholes.

True for websites and forums too.
