Does anyone usually skip parts of visual novels? If so, what parts?

The better the VN/Game the less I'll skip. Most games could do with some trimming.

always the extended dialogue parts, if the story presented isnt interesting or at least funny il skip through it to the next scene

I do skip when it's so generic that I already know the story, when the writing is really bad or I only care about one character I skip everything that doesn't involve them.

Yeah, the boring parts ;) Aka, the parts which don't involve any LI or MC.

I think a lot of games get too wrapped up in the world building sometimes. As much as I love a well thought out story, my primary reason to play these games is as porn, so I'll skip the more unnecessary story stuff. Some games are good enough though that I end up really getting invested in the story.

I'll freely skip the sex scenes of LIs I'm not interested in. I'll make enough saves though that I can quickly come back to any scene if I have a change of heart in the future. Same goes if any exposition or character scene gets a bit to lengthy.

I skip if the story is really bland and stale, see the action than probably delete the game.
I also skip in cheating/NTR games. the scenes are sometimes really good, but I'm not a fan, worse if he's a small dick that's having his life and dreams crushed just because.

when they start talking about their dead dad and how the demon gave them super fuck power I skip for a bit... heard this before

Sometimes if the dialogue drags on and on and is boring.

Like when the dev thinks he has to write the equivalent of double the length of War and Peace between any sex scenes (or in some cases - ahem AWAM - like 20 times War and Peace before even a hint of a sex scene.)

The first time I play through I try to follow the story and don't skip anything.
But if I don't like the story, if it starts to get on my nerves or if it becomes absurd nonsense, then I skip it.
and i mean confusing nonsense, not funny nonsense.
I'm always enthusiastic about funny stories, regardless of whether they're nonsense or not.
