Do you skip through dialogue to get to the sex in games?

Agreeing with @OrangeDuck: Like OG porn movies, it really depends on the writing - I've found some stuff that is actually quite compelling, and some deserve to have CTRL held down.

If the writing is stupid and the art is bad = delete.
If the writing is stupid and the art is good = skip.

If the writing is good, well it doesn't have to be good as long as it isn't stupid and the art doesn't suck = read.

Usually I don't skip, but if the story is too boring I skip to watch the sex scenes.

It depends, there are games I play for the dialogues, there are games I play for the scenes. There are also those in which both the dialogues and scenes are great, such games are the best.

No, I don't skip through the dialogue to get to the sex in games. The story is an essential part of the experience. it adds depth, context, and emotional weight to everything that happens, including the intimate moments. Without the buildup, the characters' relationships feel empty and rushed. Good storytelling makes those scenes more meaningful because you're invested in who the characters are and what they’ve been through. It’s not just about the act itself. it’s about how they got there and what it means for the story as a whole.

I think a reason why people skip even on the VNs that has decent writing is that the structure of so many stories are so god damn predictable . its like u can sense within the first 5 minutes that u got ur hand on one of a million VNS that goes through some standard structure where it starts with peeking then groping then kissing then handjob then blowjob then fucking , so if u wanna see action with one of the hotter characters u better hold down ctrl until u get to somewhere in the story where things happend or u clear ur calender and hope ur still in the mood 10 hours later.

I read everything. But if the story is stupid I quit and delete the game.

no point in playing the game if your not going to play it. just look at a booru at that point

really depends, if the atmosphere is great i sometimes read it, and sometimes, its good!

Most of the time, unless the dialogue is just there for the sake of being there and adds no value to the story (Maybe like nukiges?)

Not exactly skip to teh sex..buttttt..if the story is kinda dragging, or just repetitive, I'll damn sure skip through to a different scene, or interaction. Looking at you, Streaming For Love :x

the story should add to the lewd scenes, so if the story isnt good enough, the game wont be

in games where ive lost interest in the story for whatever reasons, but still like the renders and characters ill wait a few updates the skip through to the juicy parts. a time or two i found i became reinterested in the story. or to see if events played out the way i suspected they would. in effort to both ease curiosity and pass time while waiting for new updates of games i still have full interest in. with the amount of games out its not much by percentage. in fact there are more active games ive given up on completely then i play whether reading every word or skimming through.

i do skip across scenes in games when saves break, or when im trying to just refamiliarize myself with an aspect of it. some releases take forever and i read over 20 paper novels a year as well as an hour or two of web novels daily. 12+ months of waiting for more story often requires a quick recap. and not the "previously" on some games offer. i grew up in the 80s and mastered the forward function on vcrs, betamax and tape cassettes. i can visually and audibly skip and find exact moments like and idiot savant. though im sure im only half that, the former obviously.

I usually read the first hour, if the plot is good I keep reading if not I skip.

Not generally. Doesn't seem reasonable. Rather download the CGs or skip the game altogether. Well-done dialogue/narration really enhance the story and the experience.

i'm skipping if it's repeatable or written like full of water to just fill the space. In nowhere near real life you'll get like tons of dialogues between people. Everyone is trying to go short as possible to save time. And only in relaxed conversation you go for "details". I don't skip if dialogues have meaning that they are describing details that worth to mention.
