I guess it depends on the context. If we're going for a realism approach, average or even modest can mesh with that better. If I see a human arm disappear into a hole without organs gushing out, though, that pretty clearly leans into the fantastical context of a lot of porn, so it tells me to just enjoy the suspension of disbelief and play along.
