Do you prefer games with multiple choices that affect the story or a linear story where choices don't affect anything?

I can enjoy both, but i'm the kind of person who kept a finger in each page with a decision every time i read a choose your own adventure book, and that carried over into savescumming, so if a game does have choices with effects i prefer it if the different branches are easily explored without too much backtracking.

I find it annoying when you have to click a "choice" but there's only 1 option.

Depends on the story. If I feel like missing out on a significant portion of the game, then I don't like it. Since I mostly play with walktrough mods anyway, this usually does not come up though.

i like linear games. its always the same for me, if i have f.e. to choose between 3 paths, i play one and always tell me, i will play the other paths after i finished the first one, but most of the time, after im done with the playthrough, i lose interest in the game and go on to the next game.

i don't think there are many people who would voluntarily pick KN over VN

I like having both.
If the game is too linear with no input, then it gets boring for me after a while.

generally linear since branching increases chances for game to not be finished

Choices need to be meaningful or why have them at all?

I Prefer Choices As You Can Restart The Game And Make Different Choices Leading To Different Content (Paths)

Choices, but then I install walkthrough mods so I can pick the best choice

IMO it does not matter so long as the art and story is good.

Sounds weird, but I like choices with a walkthrough. That's kind of cheating, and makes the game into a VN story. Perhaps there's some tiny satisfaction in knowing the 'right' option to pick. Very very few games have meaningful options that make distinctly different routes worth playing, anyway. They tend just to lock the player out of content with bad choices.

I like both, it all depends on what I'm in the mood for at the time I play.

I prefer multichoice if it has a gallery to see the other paths

multiple choices that affect the story

I hate it when wrong choices make you miss scenes. I like games where you unlock scenes and can replay them (Solvalley School etc.).

Yeah I like multiple choices that affect the story but not games where a choices will cut you off from other girls and you find out a few hours later. Games are rarely good enough where replaying them to see another girl is worth it.
