Do you play your own music in games?

if i know I'm not gonna be facing story bits i will usually put on some music after the first few hours in a game especially because i prefer trying for the 100% so end up looking for collectibles often which can be a drag without extra entertainment

If it's an H-game with the same royalty-free songs I hear all the time, I'll just leave it silent. But otherwise, I trust the game devs to know what music fits the situation.

Only exception I can think of is Forza Horizon 6, because the music in that game is pretty bland. Evidently I'm not alone, because there's I put in some of my favorite weeb music, along with a bunch of songs from Gran Turismo. Helped a bit, but it didn't change the fact that FH6 is kinda soulless.

It obviously depends on the game but generally speaking I only listen to my own music in games when I’m doing something mindless. Like if I’m playing an rpg and I’m just going around killing a bunch of mobs then I might listen to some music, but if I’m playing a story heavy game I won’t so I can pay attention to what’s going on.

idk for some games the music just sucks but usually I let it lie in the hands of the creator

I usually just put on my own music. I don't mind the voices or sounds of the characters if they have em though

I'd say it's about 50/50 with me.
Some games I rock with the in-game music, sounds.
Some games I mute it all and just play my playlists.

Not music, but I'm often listening to something else, usually a youtube video
I do this a lot although it depends on the game. I have my brain turnoff games where I put on a podcast and just play (e.g. Death Stranding or Warframe) and others where I lock in

Usually not, but if the music is very generic and adds little to the atmosphere OR if the game is super grindy then eventually i will play something alongside (either music or like movies and stuff like that)

I do play with the in game music and never mute it. Sometimes I find music I enjoy that way

I haven't played a porn game where I wanted to hear the music, ever. In SFW games, I give all games a chance and start with music on and it depends on the game when or whether I turn it off. I love most Final Fantasy games in this regard, and not just Nobue Uematsu's work. I don't like dance/bubbly synth music during my games, it doesn't work imo.
