I play with MCs of both genders, but romanceable characters have to be primarily female.

Just in some cases traps romanceable characters, but only a few.

On the contrary, i don't have that much problem with them with jrpg cause i find them more funny than anything else

Female MC if she doesn't have male LIs. Otherwise, futa MC. I try to avoid male MC because I don't self insert. To me, it's more like experiencing someone else's story so I'd rather not watch some guy bang hot girls. That feels like NTR. I mean I have played male MC games before but they just aren't as enjoyable. You don't have to self insert as Lara Croft to enjoy a Tomb Raider game for example

i agree on the tomb raider thing. but i don`t enjoy futa. as long as it is straight and/or lesbian, i enjoy to play a male or a female gender. guess what, yes, i am a cis man and i watch the same kind of porn.

Personally if I see a game that says it has a female MC or even 'multiple protagonists', I leave it alone and don't touch it, sticking to 'male protagonist' centred games.

Is this true of the majority, or am I in the minority?

If you're a male, do you just want to play as a female MC in order to see her get fucked or corrupted?

Or maybe you're a female yourself and want the character to reflect your gender?

I more or less only stick to male-MC games, because in my experience, the female led ones are one of three things, none of which I enjoy: complete sausage fests, I dont want dick variety, I want a variety of women, "loss" simulators where the only point is to get raped repeatedly, or lesbian love fests, and while I'm not fully against lesbian sex in games, when thats ALL the game has or it makes up a vast majority, it just gets rather boring. I'm big on Male protagonist true harems (paths dont close other paths, or in other words so long as you dont say no to them, you can have ALL the female love interests)

I just can't like trans protagonists, all of those games tend to exaggerate on physical stats, same for games that carry too much fantasy.
An exaggerated plot is kinda expected, but the protagonist, for me, has to be somewhat relatable, either female or male.

I enjoy Bad Memories, which has a male/female (straight/lesbian) option. I don't mind femprotag, but it's not something I actively search out.

I usually only play male protagonist games, but there are also great games with "multiple protagonists" like Desert Stalker. If you are avoiding that game because of the 'multiple protagonist' tag then you're missing out my friend. This coming from someone like you who mostly avoids female protag games. The female protag parts are story/lore only and don't feature sex.

I mostly stick to male MCs, but I have played some games with multiple protags. The 'Dating Amy' series, for example, has a multiple protag game that I mostly enjoyed.
