I do not have a preference. I usually enjoy the story, or the models, or the banter. The best is a combination of those elements.

Male MC's is the norm and there is not lack of content or variety.
Fem MC tend to follow a weird path where it's a question of how quickly they become slutty.
I am sure this is an artifact of it being a lewd game, but it also means that the games tend to just be classic male centric fantasies. She puts out easily. She is powerful but submissive in context. She gets raped, but actually liked it. She desires a father figure character and the story is her successfully seducing him.

The gender of the character seldom makes a difference to me because the author seldom tried to make it different.
