Unless the points system means you miss one or 2 things you're locked out of that path for the rest of the game. Like if it's something you're not interested in she asks, but you're still interested in her.

Uronically I play games for the plot. While the graphics obviously helps, what gives me the edge is the context is in. The few real porn That tries to having something similar is just really cringe.
But yeah, porn do tend to look better than games graphics, which is why I usually finish by watching regular porn.


I remember seeing videos about some kind of "Fab Hero" on PornHub some years ago, which the premise was exactly that. I didn't care for it, but maybe the people who did would like this one.

Kinetic novels I just ignore, Visual novels - differently. Depends on the story and the availability of real workable choices.

No, thanks for writing it! It's exactly why I asked the question, because people play games (including erotic ones) for all sorts of reasons and in all sorts of ways.
It's similar with other erotic media - while many people consume porn and erotica as a way to have a wank, for others, that's not the point, it's about titillation, or perhaps warming up for sexy times.

Mechanics should enrich the story and not just be out of place. The mini game, stat evolving etc. has to make sense…

Kinetic preferable. Then comes the only choice I care about "Fuck? Do not Fuck?" For me, death to Sandbox! As I said in other posts, porn doesn't (anymore) have the content I want.

As far as inner monologue, I don't have one, but I have recently had a revelation: A favourite youtuber of mine called Jeremy Jahns posted on one of his recent reviews (I forget which):

"I just learned LAST WEEK that there are people in the world... that don't have an inner monologue CONSTANTLY going about every thing happening in their life, big, small, immediate. That blew my mind. For me, that voice is ALWAYS talking." Which means, some people actually DO have an inner monologue.

I'm not saying you should enjoy inner monologue, but, obviously, the devs that make those games have one.

That's totally fair. But for me, there are actual sex scenes I don't want to see. I don't see anal as the shangri-la / ultimate goal of all sex scenes (again, not wanting to take away from those that like anal). But I'll skip anal. Every time.

An even more intense example for me is if a character has been a bitch / femdom to me the entire game, and in the final stretch of the game it's "Hey! Loser! I'll ALLOW you fuck me..."

For well crafted Renpy VNs with good story telling and 3dcg or 2dcg, minimal or no mechanics. Choices and points given should be meaningful and not there just to pad play time.
For sandbox Html games with real porn, go wild, EXCEPT, mini games... they are never a good addition. Games like College daze is a good example of good mechanics and stat tracking without pointless mini games.
In general, I'm playing to get my rocks off.. not for the gaming experience, I can play non porn games if I want that.

I assumed they more meant like two conversation paths and one leads to sex and one fails to get sex. Those choices are dumb. It's a horny game I'm playing because I want to see stuff. If you're not going to make it obvious that a choice leads to losing out on a scene, that needs to be explained up front. "Your choices matter" isn't "You can cockblock yourself if you're not paying attention to the dialogue enough to be ready for the POP QUIZ to unlock the sex scene.

I think it's great when devs add mechanics that make the content worthy, but I think most of them are integrated in a way that's not very useful. It's the same with choice games that don't really interfere with anything

Personally, I think too much complex gameplay gets in the way of the fap - I like some choices in the story, and maybe a meter or two to show progress of corruption or desire or something like that, but any more than that and I lose my buzz.

That said, I really like TF Card Battle (maybe more as a game than as wank material, though.

Would love to hear your general preferences and your unlikely faves.

I prefer less mechanics and more choices... That being said I did really like the older games I started with like Summer Time Saga and Man of the House. Though some of that is grind rather than gameplay... I guess I really liked Mass Effect... lots of mechanics and gameplay there with only a couple of sexy scenes.
