No, i see grindy games as badly written. Sure, i'm ok that you need to achieve certain things before you're allowed to do other things. But a well written game would take care of that by following the storyline. Grinding in-game weeks/months to progress a step is just boring.

No, not really. Especially since the grind is almost never worth it.

In my opinion grind is not really tied to difficulty, it's just another mechanic, which can be used for good and bad effects.

The enemy of grind is time, not skill.

I would rather tie difficulty to minigames or games which rely heavily on time and/or place-specific triggers.

A lot of people talking about grind, grind isn't difficult it's tedious. A difficult game with no grind would be something like Black Souls, you can grind all the way to max level and still get whooped by end game dlc bosses (which would take an eon), or you can not even level up once and beat those same bosses with the right strategy and equipment.

Grinding or difficult mini games can ruin a game totally. Those kind of games must have an option to skip this.

No. Which is why I have no intention of ever replaying "Treasure of Nadia" or all the other games by the same developer. "Treasure of Nadia" is not only too hard to play but it's either unfinished or made unfinishable on purpose. So when I saw "The Genesis Order", I didn't even play it, I only unpacked it, got the animations I wanted and then deleted it.

MO-DE-RE-TION. A game with no challenge is pointless, might as well watch a gallery, but a porn game that's too hard is a turn off. Like holy knight Ricca is almost perfect, there is some challenge but it's not bad if you are not hamfisted.

If it's actually fun, which is rare. Otherwise I cheat quite a lot and use walkthrough or URM mod to see/change variables as/when needed.
