There are few cartoonish ones that are based on my tastes, for example:
Amity Park, The Already Dead Milftoon Drama
But without a doubt I prefer the realistic more
Realistic for sure. Even in mainstream gaming I will pass on popular games that are considered really good in favor of games that push my PC's graphics with realism. I guess I'm into immersion, and graphics are a big part of that experience.
Unless it's Japanese graphics and HS or HS2, it doesn't really matter to me. As long as there's good gameplay (kinetic novels don't exist for me, they're not games), a solid story, and well-developed characters. The rest are minor details that have no impact on me.
I like realistic, but it depends on the characters of course. And realism gets to a point where it all looks similar you know, the more realistic it is.
A cartoon style has the advantage that it can be very distinct and have its own unique look
I definitely prefer a less realistic look for some reason (Guess I've just been online too long). I prefer hand-drawn and disproportionate 3d models to accurate 3d models, but that's not to say that they're bad at all.
