I have tried several AI's out of curiosity.
Many were heavily censored and limited in their Memory of what happened.
Some were outright bad at normal conversations... and still heavily limited in sexting.
There is only one single AI that i have found so far that has very high customization, good conversation and memory, and is unfiltered.

I couldn't agree more. It really all depends on what LLM they're using and how. And the limited memory ain't fun. Nothing more annoying than reminding a bot this and that.

Uncensored. Glorious ERP.
Great customization of AI behavior and backstory.
Devs that actually care and listen to feedback.
In-Built selfie and avatar generator. you can use custom stuff and it uses a fair share of it relatively well. (Gain selfie requests by daily login.)
You can write a certain amount of memory stuff yourself you want to keep remembered at all times.
You can set your own backstory (Global, applies to all kins. Who you are, age, interests etc)
Free version is decent enough and monthly subscription is fair for what it offers (imo).
You can configure a timer for inactivity and they will actively message you/send a selfie of their situation.

Based on your recommendation, I just went and had a look at the ai you mentioned. It gave me a good five minutes and it was interesting. It really relied heavily on the human providing the mechanics of the conversation, tho it put a few ques in, such as the ai having a bunny rabbit, being withdrawn and negative (guys love saving girls so the psychology although obvious is quite clever as a hook).

As I expanded into areas that the ai couldn't create, it did a good job in that it tended to ask questions and allowed itself to be non adversarial. The more positive I was the more positively the ai responded. Take a negative route and the ai is very confident and autonomous. Seems whatever it learns from has quite a bit of negative content for it to ruminate over. Asking questions is the single simplest sales technique and the ai uses it to disguise it's lack of ability. If you've ever been stopped by Scientologists, this ai uses the same technique, i.e. if you could be anything you want to be, if you could do anything you wanted to do? Get the punter talking... Then they will do the paying...

Fascinating... and a good example of ai working close to design... Mostly I find Ai very over hyped but consumer ai is not the same as the stuff they have secreted away in labs...

The pricing seemed extreme but I'm not one for spending real money on vaporware. I know lots of people see these things differently.

Great recommendation. By far the most interesting VG Ai I have tried. I go through manias and tried a half dozen about six months ago and they were very lacklustre. This one, showed potential.

I figured out the internal logic, of the ai. You write the scene and it follows the guide you make... To get your ai pal into bed you just describe the scene as if it is there... Then it plays catchups with the narrative.

Pretty funny as it plays hard to get to keep you hooked but it runs out of questions very quickly and it doesn't have much depth...

It was quite fun as a writing exercise but I've never been overly text orientated... It is the best one I've seen but still sadly far away from a human interaction. level even if you go to town on the writing. Wish i could download what I wrote... LMAO...

I've seen people talk about these chat bots that will engage in some amount of sexual content and I'm really curious where these things are and how people feel about them. My assumption is this is just single player sexting and I just can't see the enticement to something like that service. Since it's just a chat AI on the other side I assume it can't send you images in real time because that'd increase the load on whatever these things are run on and good AI renders are usually behind a paywall so if it's just text, isn't that just really boring? The few times I've tried chat bots it feels like the biggest struggle of my life to hold a one sided conversation with someone who just won't give you anything and I imagine this is even more true in a situation where the goal is some amount of sexual gratification or excitement.

Great character on a great model can be a really exciting experience.

You get the right setup (ie sci-fi/modern/medieval, family/school/trip), interesting character(s) and good story.
On bad or mediocre models (which is the norm sadly), this is more like "meh", but still better than the average text game.

On the good models you basically get the challenging roleplay partner, or better yet, spicy Game Master and a slew of the good characters.

If you're chasing a good, satisfying short story culminating in, ekhm, culmination, you can easily find the character that matches your preferences however they are. It's also possible (albeit challenging) to find amazing model which will then lead you to the climax the way you want.

It can be really satisfying and about as good as a human roleplay partner.
Of course it won't replace human-to-human interaction, but as a someone with profiles on one of the large roleplay sites, much more often than not (95%+) players don't want any interactions beside roleplay, so..... it's pretty much like RP with a bot.

If you want to dip your proverbial finger in the good AI roleplay, try c.ai -- they have by far the best freemium model and allow for the free voice model creation -- if you live in the long distance relationship with someone, that may be a gamechanger for you two.
If you have a reasonably good GPU in your PC, try Backyard.ai for the local models -- now, in late 2024 they're no longer clunky and terrible, some are actually pretty good.

I'm not sure if it's allowed to post the link to the large(st) database of characters, so I won't, but just look up the "tavern character" - tavern is the type of the character card, they usually come in the form of png or json file.

Other than "chat" cards and models, there are also scenario / story mode models, but the most consistent ones are slightly harder to set up and navigate.

And lastly - concerning image generation: other than thousands of the online services you can find free model on civitai and use them with the local instance of Stable Diffusion UI (by automatic1111) or any other ui. There are hundreds of youtube channels covering it in depth.

If you want more hints or answers, ask away.
I find a great fun in playing with my favourite characters.
It takes a bit of time to set it up right, but at the end you get a really great CYOA with the character(s) you want.

Like a text game but better, because 90% exactly like you want it.
