I've seen people talk about these chat bots that will engage in some amount of sexual content and I'm really curious where these things are and how people feel about them. My assumption is this is just single player sexting and I just can't see the enticement to something like that service. Since it's just a chat AI on the other side I assume it can't send you images in real time because that'd increase the load on whatever these things are run on and good AI renders are usually behind a paywall so if it's just text, isn't that just really boring? The few times I've tried chat bots it feels like the biggest struggle of my life to hold a one sided conversation with someone who just won't give you anything and I imagine this is even more true in a situation where the goal is some amount of sexual gratification or excitement.

As you said, it's boring. Personally, I only use it whenever I'm bored or want a different experience from just watching something, and I kind of understand why some people really enjoy talking to them since it's basically like playing a choice-based game, except you have almost infinite options for what you can talk about. I think that might also be why some people don't like it, aside from thinking it's just weird, because how immersiveit feels depends a lot on the quality of the AI, and nowadays it's somewhat difficult to find a good free one that isn't repetitive. People who enjoy roleplaying but don't have anyone to do it with are very likely to turn to AI, but at the end of the day, it will never feel the same as talking to a real person when you know it's just a programmed robot

I've tried a few. It's interesting for a while but then they get repetitive and boring. I appreciate them as a way to engage in like specifics fantasies and scenarios through text.
Hopefully they'll get better in the future.

Can be rewarding if it's setup right. And by rewarding, I mean fun and entertaining, not one-handed typing.

I've been messing around with SillyTavern for a year or so, and some of the chats are pretty great.
