I play both male and female MC's, that's not a big issue for me.
In a female MC game I'd play as if she was my sister or daughter.

However I do need a character which acts in a way that I can relate to.
I tend to play male MC's sluttier than female MC's.

Ideally I would play as a non-slutty male MC as well but that locks you out of 90% of the content.
I tend to play female MC's as a lesbian unless there is a truly worthy male LI.

Usually it doesn't matter too much, unless the main character is just insufferable or just only makes bad decisions

Doesn't bother me for the most part. The fantasy element is the draw for most games. I know it's a shocker to hear, but I'd never be able to pull off a harem IRL.

It has nothing to do with reality so no but there is always room for exception and hard stop.

I like the immersion of a good first person narrative but for a quick fap I dont really care as long as the art is good

Why would I want to play someone who aligns with myself? I'm already that person, I play to be someone else.

Yes, I like to identify myself at least a little bit, so female or submissive protagonists are not my cup of tea.

If their actions are really uncomfortable or if their body type is absurd then I get to distracted to enjoy anything else going on

It sucks but if the content and scenes are there I can learn to get over it. But there some games where the mc is unplayable.

Mainly it varies on the story and content. if the story and characters are compelling, then I have no issue. If the story and characters lack, then I lose intrest quickly, whether I like the MC or not.

For me it is part of the story to try to understand the MC .. How does he / she think .. what made them how they are today?
So, no it doesn´t disturb me.

The only time I see it as a problem is when they indiscriminately kill people for no reason other then to kill

It really depends to be honest. Games with women as the protagonist can be ok depending on how the game evolves and its choices. One of my favorite games is Good Girl Gone Bad and that one has a woman protagonist. To be honest, I don't really align with the majority of the typical game protagonists anyway cause often they can be quite dumb or stupid.

Inner monologue explained after almost every encounter or action even if they align with what I would think or do does put me out of it. Kinda like I was "forced" to think that.
The other one is dark actions that you had no control over.
But I do disconnect from a lot of the games and just have them at face value.

I have no issues with female protagonists in books but when it comes to erotica like AVN's I have to have a male protagonist. I like to put myself in the protagonist's shoes and I just can't do that with female/futa/trans protagonists.

Actual games I like to play characters my gender. Games like the ones hosted on here, don't bother me either way as long as its good

It doesn't really bother me, I like games that have a lot of choices that also matter so I'm essentially the person moulding the MC of how I just feel at that time.

No, not at all. I play such protagonists all the time. It kinda is hard to self-align with someone who actually gets the girls:p

It's a game, it's fiction, it's fantasy, I'm not going to confuse it with reality. I am not the character, the character is not me. < that's all you need to remember when going in, then male or female doesn't matter. Then, if the game's gameplay can actually keep you in the immersion, kudos, but most of the times, there's going to be something that will pull you out, like an annoying minigame the gamedev thought it would be revolutionary only to have it annoy you, or a choice that by all logic does not make any sense or a grammar mistake in the dialog that either makes you laugh out loud or gives you a headache.
