Do ratings affect whether you download a game?

Usually ratings are pretty spot-on in my experience, so yes.

I look more at the game dialogue in the first few minutes. Ratings don't really matter

Do ratings affect whether you download a game?

Oh games have ratings? :) Never look at them as my tastes might not match others.

i don't bother with ratings. People enjoy different things and ratings in my opinion do not accurately reflect. Story summary, and graphics are the first things i look at and then comments and updates frequency + size of game

Absolutely. Good games can have slow starts, but there are so many games that never get devloped past that point. Its easy to waste 2-3 h on game that never goes anywhere and reviews help me manage that.

If comments say its bad with a low rating then its bad. I then move on which saves me time rather than trying it myself with my slow download speed.

There are ratings !? But for real, I almost never look at ratings. My decisions are made based almost solely on previews.

Yeah ratings affect if I download, especially multiple similar ratings. There are so many games to play it helps to not waste time on a bad game.

This is a pretty subjective medium, it's almost weird to read other's reviews.

The games what I find the most interesting a lot of time are in the range of 3-4 stars.
So short answer is ratings are not everything :)

if i like the art work i'll give it a go and make my own mind up ;)

Most people aren't that picky, if its got a low rating, it's probably no good

Sometimes yes, but lately I've been realizing that these ratings may be linked to things other than the quality of the game. I even avoided downloading one because of the ratings and after I downloaded it I regretted not having tried it before.

I'm trusting ratings less and less over time. Sometimes things are rated low just because the kink is unpopular.

Stuff that's rated really low. Like between a 1~2 out of 5. And if there are around a hundred ratings total, but that's the average?
Yea, that will have me reconsider.
But the reviews are more important. Some reviews will rave about how it's a hidden gem or a had a rework. That usually get's me curious.
Other times there are reviews that will give it a high rating because "it could be good in the future", so I will skip those games because it means it's not any good right now.

I think preview images are an important component for me. If I don't like the characters, that can be a big problem for me. Ratings are not unimportant, but only make up a small part of my decision.

Comments are pretty useful indicators of the quality of games... No comment=forgettable or niche
