I've downloaded a few games before they have any reviews and enjoyed them, only to see low scoring reviews after a few days that make me go back and re-evaluate the experience. Maybe I'm just more tolerant of common flaws like grinding? But if a game has poor review scores off the bat I would usually avoid it. Haven't played certain games with nice looking art because of it, not sure if I'm missing much.
