Do folks like to check out abandoned games?

I do. I even have some of them saved up. Games that started back in 2019 to 2020 that are now abandoned have pretty good writing compared to now. I play them time to time when theres nothing good updated

I always get tempted but the lack of conclusion always gets me, I still accumulate them if they have good style but can't bring myself to actually play sadly

Same, I can't get into it if I know there won't be a conclusion and I don't want to be left, hopelessly, wanting more.

I'll check out abandoned games if people are still mentioning them. That's how I found out about Corruption Time, I think. (It has an interesting art style, and just barely enough content to be worth trying, I think.)

I feel the same I play get into it then sad it’ll never get updated again

I get that, but where I dislike knowing there will be no conclusion, I hate not knowing when or if there will be one. Obviously I prefer completed games, but games in development have no guarantee of being finished and occasionally have weird changes made to them (see: Family Faring). If it's introduced as abandoned, then you know what you're getting.

I have some games from 2022 that i never played. When i decide to go look for a update and they are abandoned pisses me off so much. Specially some that start in such a amazing way

You should give them a try if one catch your interest, there're games that got abandoned and still have a lot of content and almost feel like completed games, i've played some that were really good and even have a couple of endings

Any recommendations?

Pretty much never. Maybe I've had bad luck, but most of the abandoned games I've tried are abandoned JUST before any good sex scenes.

I'm guessing the devs chicken out before actually putting porn to paper.

Once in a rare while, I do check an abandoned game that I was playing but forgot all about when my latest hand-me-down dinosaur computer dies and I have to get another one.

Depends on the content. If there's good tags and a generally okay amount of content, I'll give it a look. Most of them are frustratingly missing stuff, but there are some that definitely are worth playing. Midlife Crisis is one that comes to mind. Long Lost Daughter is another.

No, an abandoned game is like an unfinished book. There's no point (with very few exceptions) in wasting your time on them. Although some abandoned projects are a true regret - The Intoxicating Flavor, Midlife Crisis....

Sometimes check them out, just to see how good they were.

I check abandoned games to determine if I'm willing to continue development on their content. Some games are not moddable unfortunately.

I don't like to, I have a few times, typically on accident because the tags hadnt been updated to reflect the abandoned status yet. but 1 of two things happen. Either it sucks, I understand why its abandoned, and as such, it was a waste of time, which is naturally annoying. Or its really good, and I'm now annoyed by the fact that it's abandoned. so why bother if I'm going to be annoyed either way
