Do folks like to check out abandoned games?

I normally filter them out, because as others noted, they often lack any conclusion (or features to keep you going). But I hadn't thought to look at the top-rated abandoned games to see if there are any worth spending time on. I'll have to adjust my search occasionally.

Occasionally I'll check em out if I hear high praises what sucks afterwards is knowing that peak of such magnitude with never reach its highest heights

I will still check em out because there is usually some content that is worth it. It does suck though getting to the end. I feel like its not unlike playing a game thats in progress though, you may not ever get those updated too

I don't bother with them. What if I like it and want more? Seems like an easy way to get yourself disappointed.

There's some real gems out there, especially before the AI boom. Plus you know you're not going to be strung along waiting for updates. Also I don't really mind if there is no real ending, most porn game endings are pretty meh anyway.

As long as the game has the genres I am looking for, I don't mind checking them out even if they are abandoned.
I found some games I really enjoyed even though they were abandoned for a while.
Never know what goodies you can find sometimes.

There's no point in getting deeply invested in an abandoned game but it could be good for a fap.

With an active game I might check it out (and possibly support it) even if the p0rn isn't 100% aligned with my tastes if I hear the gameplay or writing is really good. With an abandoned one, I'll only download if it pushes my particular fetish buttons, with the expectation that I'll check it out, enjoy the content that's there, and then never look at it again.

I check them out and then am disappointed when I find a gem that's cut frustratingly short. It's like low stakes gambling lol

I like to see if there was anything worth checking out. But yeah, pretty sad when there's no conclusion.

If they had a fair amount of content already created before they were abandoned, sure. That, of course, depends if the game looks worthwhile in the first place. There is a fair amount of completed games that are worse than many abandoned ones, so I am not often that bummed about the abrupt cut-offs that will never be finished.

can be frustrating to play a game for several hours and then there's a cut off or cliffhanger and you know it'll never continue,
but some games are really worth it to check them out.

i sometimes play them, if they are a type of game im looking for. but only if they have at least a few updates, so i can enjoy some of the story. but i never end up going back to them.

Unfortunately some of the best games, or at least the ones with tags that i particularly like are abandoned....just the nature of vns not everyone is going to have the bandwidth to finish their games. I never skip over them tho and always want to play whatever is there. even if it isn't finished most of the time its juicy enough for a short investment.

I do from time to time. There are some good ones hidden in there but it is also a gamble

I've done so in the past, usually when I'm bored with nothing to do. There are definitely some gems out there, but most are meh or in a broken state.

Who all likes to check out games that have been abandoned or do people avoid them entirely?
Well, sometimes I do it to see how the project was going and what the developer’s original idea was; it’s usually a bit of a downer, as you can see the potential in quite a few of them.

i feel like some of my favorite games are abandoned like big brother by dark silver. I knew it was abandoned going in and have no regrets playing it.
