Debbie was a kind of anti-system who dyed her hair purple, purposely neglected her looks and didn't give a damn about being overweight. She didn't socialize much with the other girls at school; her only buddy was Kenneth, a smart, quiet, discreet guy. Since Kenneth was a good friend of Wayne's, by necessity, she also hung out with Wayne.
Wayne was something else altogether: the school hunk that all the girls went for, and whom he happily consumed at the slightest opportunity. He wasn't stupid at all, but he was pretty lazy, and without Kenneth's help, he would have had a harder time finishing school. For his part, Kenneth took advantage of Wayne's aura to hang out with the hot high-school girls Wayne was no longer interested in.
