Overview:
Felicia is a shy girl. She has issues, some of them to do with her dad. He is not what he seems and makes life difficult for her. Jenny is Felicia’s best friend, but Felicia is conflicted about her. Does she or doesn’t she like her?
Jenny is confident on the outside, but she is hurting on the inside. Felicia is so hard to read sometimes but Jenny knows what she wants and despite appearances would protect Felicia with her life.
Felicia’s dad is a creep. What is he all about? What happened to make Felicia feel like she is going mad and why does Jenny like him?

The whole situation seems off. The girls spend time with each other, as friends do, but events are about to take a turn for the worse. Felicia’s paranoia is affecting her friendships, but other things are going wrong and neither of them can figure it out. Can you?

I hope you all like it.

Another game going down the "Remastered" rabbit hole.

Technology is advancing. Everyone needs to keep up with technology. Or the reconstruction of an unpopular story completely changes the game. Don't worry about it, enjoy it.

Two questions:
This is v0.1. The "old" one was at v0.8.
Are there scenes missing now, and
are the saves compatible?
The "old" game was just one year and one day published before, so I don't know, what to expect here.

Is the story the same? Lost me when it became a BHG 2.0 narrative a few updates ago.

Look, for the people who don't like "remasters", I know they can be annoying for the player, but this will be worth it for myself.. and for you in the long run when the quality of the renders will look way better than a year ago.
Chapters will be longer than in the original, overall it will look nice.. if not, then I can just put this on-hold in the meantime, and go back to the original game and finish that one first?

humbly, I think you should do what you find satisfying. It doesn't do anyone any good if you get burnt out doing something you're not really feeling. I know the feeling of forcing youself to push forward on a project whose old foundations now annoy you. If you have better ideas (and tech) for a tweaked and glowed-up version, and you'll feel better about moving forward with it after you catch up, I'm personally much more in favour of that.

Thanks for your work on this, whatever you decide!

It's probably association with AAA games, when Remaster\Redux given only to finished games.

If it feels better for you then just do it. The games which are "forced" are usually much lower in quality. We are the players, we can give advice or critique, but in the end it is your game. And I prefer if author can work on the project the way he likes (in reasonable limits (without making 50gb game, requiring RTX5090, lasting 10 minutes)).

Yep. Negative association of "we just added a bit more pixels to old game, pay 50$".
@goregames if there is going to be extra content and different way of play, it is better to tag it as remake.

Will be great see on this remaster better animated scenes. It doesn't matter if they are loops as long as there are 3 or 4 angles that change among themselves.

I honestly can't think of a single time that I wouldn't have rather the dev just finish the game first, then go back and make it all look the same level of pretty.
Too many times, I see the same game "rebooted" 3-5 times.

I'm ESL and I'm trying to say this with the greatest respect. Tone doesn't translate well in the internet.

The problem isn't what you're trying to do. That's your business.
The problem is that you, like every dev, is measured against other devs... in this case, devs that remaster.

So, regarding remasters, here are a (not complete) list of the remaster type of devs.
-Dev Type 1 = My game was hurting with the poor graphics and gameplay. I'm making it better for the player base.
-Dev Type 2 = I'm a perfectionist. I'll remake it a dozen times if I have to, even if it hurts my subscribers. It's gotta be perfect for me, or why am I doing this?
-Dev Type 3 = I'm losing interest and energy. And do remasters and/or second (or third) simultaneous games. It's either that or I quit. I'm burned out.
-Dev Type 4 = I wonder how what is the minimum effort I can do to charge my subs and still look like I'm making content?

The harsh reality is that there's no handy number 1, 2, 3 or 4 floating over a dev's head, and the devs are all very convincing.
Then the downloaders have to decide, of the two extremes, which is worse:
A-Not believing a dev that is trying to help and / or is having burnout problems.

B-Giving money to a dev that milks.

Personally, I wrote this here because I don't believe in the Patreon model. I can't imagine giving money for half a novel or half a game.
(YES YES I KNOW. "You're not buying a game. You're subsidizing a dev." Whatever words you call it... I wouldn't do it... sigh...)

But I am posting this because it DOES look like a great game, so, I wish goregames a LOT of financial and creative success.
I look forward downloading all parts, prequels, sequels, sidequels of this promising game once it is completed.
And yes, I've said this post many times in other threads but I think it's worth repeating. Good luck goregames.

As someone who has seen many remasters of something unfinished come and go as abandoned stuff. Which by the way I am not accusing you of here, but seeing the same wordings and excuses being used for remasters is what makes it the problem.
It put's people in the either believe or don't believe camp and given how many times people have been burned it usually goes in the don't believe or benefit of the doubt category, which end up cutting funds which ends up leading to abandoning.

Also another thing with remasters/remakes with these games is the exact same pacing but with always the promise of better quality and etc. The previous version took around a year to have it's amount of content. And if the remaster or rework is going to take another year to get not only to the same point with the exact same plot and the exact same scenes just higher quality or a few extra animations added in... is it really a remaster at that point ? these are the questions that never get answered and that get people actually raising a stink about it.

You are the dev, you make the game you want to make the story you want to tell the way you want to tell it, that is something you have to stick to if you want to keep yourself motivated.

But at least also provide an idea of what is going to be different to at least still down the doubts that this raises.

For example, are we getting animated scenes ? are there going to be new characters ? are there going to be redesigns ? are there going to be added in extra scenes and more content and how fast will it catch up to the current events of its previous iterations ?

Since this is a remake and mostly the story is the same and if the characters are not going to be changed much or most will stay the same but will get made in a bit of higher quality, will that mean that on per release we will get the same amount of content as previous updates or will there be like 1 update but enough content to match up 2 or 3 updates from the previous work ? these are things no one tells anyone.

A good example I can give is the Family Faring game as an example, they remade that game but all it really changed was the character models their size and some minor changes overall and in general yet it took them almost same amount of time to catch up on previous version of the game, almost everything was exact or identical. Yet the progress of release and what was offered was pretty much in line of the previous iteration and not much changing. That raises a lot of questions in and of itself. But the moment it get's mentioned or pointed out, Dev's get defensive and all up in their ego instead of explaining and giving a proper reasoning as to why that is the case, which in turn creates distrust.

So my point here is, you saying it will be worth it for yourself, that is great but saying for us in the long run that quality of renders will look better than a year ago ? I could just ask at that point why not just continue and raise the quality with the next update ? because not only when new people come to it see your progress as the game continues but also you get to continue the story without the need to go back. If all this is going to be just raising quality in renders but everything else is going to be the same or only very very small changes being made but it will take a whole year to catch up to the current content, than for majority of the people that just is not worth it and in turn what will happen ? most people won't interact or as you say put it on hold and wait for the catch up to happen and when they come back a year later, they are going to be hit with the same tag that is majority of the case, abandoned. That is what people mostly fear and or get annoyed by. Again not saying this is going to be the case for you and neither am I accusing you off this but I do want you to understand where most people come from when it comes about these type of reworks/remakes/remasters.

So I dropped the original game because it was getting too convoluted. Downloaded the remaster thinking that the dev streamlined the story, but the first thing I see is this:

LOL could have put that in the first post so I didn't waste my time.
