Does the new version not work with the old save? I tried loading from old save but it ends immediately

I had the same problem. However, I loaded from a slightly older save, slightly further back in the game, and the game then proceeded fine. Not sure what that's about, but I did go through the whole update without a problem after loading the second time.

It means if your 0.8.7a hash does not match my 0.8.7a hash, then the file has been modified and may contain a virus.
Due to the recent virus events, I have now been adding my SHA-256 for all the files I upload (just so you (the player) can feel a bit safer and not put yourself at risk).

Honestly I thought it was common knowledge that Australia has some whack speech laws cuz of Postal and other games being completely banned for sale. I've known about the laws there specifically since I was in middle school. But I guess if you live there, it wouldn't make the news lol? But then, have you never flown out of the country? Can't you get arrested just for having regular porn on a hard drive getting on an international flight out?
Sucks that you happen to live in one of the few countries where this would actually be a legal issue for you though. At first I thought you were being paranoid and you lived somewhere in Europe, I was thinking what were the odds of you and Westy both being from down under?

Regarding the paths, I think they are useful for what you've gotten set up so far, but would there be an easy way to expand this to make sure specific events are triggered properly?
An example:
The night of Day 4 we get to choose the DP for Megan, which leads to the morning event on Day 5.
Using the "paths" if you choose DP and Megan only starting on Day 5, it doesn't trigger the morning event. If we do the same "path" options and choose Day 4 we can get it to trigger as expected playing it through.
From my understanding the "Dark Path" toggle is more just to allow DP options, as that is how it seemed to be used previously? Which in that case obviously the quick start doesn't register the dark path itself as the chosen path when it is enabled, which would be why this doesn't trigger.
Knowing little about Ren'py I'd assume having a toggle for each and every event to allow the different paths to work would be lead to too many variables to be toggled, if you did them individually.
Then doing a single toggle to force Dark path events themselves wouldn't be completely viable as people may not want the DP path for every character and only specific characters.
The only real way in that case would be to have a general toggle for DP for each character to choose the path type if they even have a DP, so the quick start knows that is your expected path choice per character at least, so it knows to register the previous DP Events as DP. That would cause less toggles to be programmed in the long run compared to having to toggle for each event. However, it likely still a fair bit of back end scripting and variable tracking to make sure the quick start works properly.
I personally do run a pure DP and Normal path so this is not an issue for me in that sense, but it is something that was rattling around in the brain after playing with it to validate a way to get a specific Replay event for someone that asked, so I figured I'd reach out to get your thoughts on this.
I'd assume you made this as more of a simple way to jump ahead of the days for people who are replay hunting or just don't want to replay days when you release reworked/updated content and jump straight to the new stuff, so a more complex start was never and may never be the intended purpose for this.

The uploader uploads the file and shares the SHA filehash. The downloader downloads the file, checks the filehash and compares it with the filehash shared by the uploader, making sure that they match.
This is secure. If you trust the person who has uploaded the file and the filehash, and the downloaded file's filehash matches the filehash shared by the uploader, then you can be sure that the file you have is an exact replica of the file that was uploaded by the uploader. Even if a single bit is different, the filehash will be different.

Well, it's better at least. Nothing is ever 100%. But I haven't heard of anybody spoofing sha256... yet.
