The thing is, we don't actually know how rare those things are, because it's a survivor bias thing. You don't really go looking to see how many people out there have chimera or vanishing twin syndrome, because on its own there's no real need to check for that. But several studies have shown now that trans people have a brain structure that correlates with the sex they identify as, not as the sex their body is.

In the age of Aristotle, we also figured the fastest way to travel was via horse. Things change over time. If everything remained the same, you and I would not be talking right now, using captured lightning trapped behind sheets of metal and glass using images of completely fabricated character concepts as our representation. I think all your points are 100% valid but they are not fun. lol I have to admit. I am not captain of a space ship, or a laser shooting super human... But god dang it, do I love pretending. The high and fun I get watching a show of Star Trek or playing a game where I am a super human. You do you, brother. I let my opinions stand and don't feel any need to extensively defend them. If you felt shamed by them, that is on you. You have my sympathy.

Changing the topic a bit, what I appreciate about the concept of the VN's is the exploration through story of the boundaries of sexuality. You know, the ?What ifs." I personally find it stupid to "deface" a woman with a male body part, but futa is a good example of something that could be explored. Many fetishes, like the Harem fantasy, can only be explored in fantasy because if applied to real life, it would be really bad! Having to manage more than one woman?? Well, I would argue that saying that all people who like traps and futas are gay, is not the most meaningful way to use that word. I mean, I personally don't particularly like dicks, but if a cute girl comes with one attached, I don't really mind. Now, you can call me whatever label you want, but I would say that straight is a more accurate description for me than gay. When I go out I look at women, not men; when I watch a movie I might feel attracted to some of the female actresses, not the male actors. If someone wants to know what I'm attracted to, and you tell them I'm gay, I feel you would be misinforming them.
