Vanilla and usual plot with not very realistic characters. Like the point of VNs is either it is super romantic or it allows you to be someone you can never be in real life.

When it says animated in the tags but the in game animations are really just a fadeout between 2 or 3 images -_-

Too many characters but no action or open ended reason why they exist. If I can fuck them, great. If not, then are they crucial to the story?

When the developer introduces more and more characters and doesn't deepen the content of the existing characters in any way.

Anything that slows down the game and feels like padding for time and not for the story.

To much conversation in the same scene where only the heads are turning from left to right are a pity for me.

when they take too long to get the next parts out, and even worse when they abandon them

remakes, remasters of far along games the aren't at least finished

Pacing issues and dragging out stories to pad the pocketbook (for subscriber based games). So many games just want to either drag out the plot or rush it along to get to the sex. It's foreplay... not a quip.

When devs make a side character that won't be a LI, but still bait scenes and sexual tension, because they know people like the character.

My biggest gripe is hearing/seeing a game with a banging concept but an execution that I feel would have been better had it gone in a different direction.

Mine is almost related to yours, it has a lot of characters to fuck but it doesn't want to put another route with a harem ending, my only complaint but what can be done: v

Games that are slow as hell in the start and just rush the ending

This happens unfortunately too often. Lots of devs think they will make a long epic at the start but fall out of love or burn out halfway through. But well, at least the rushed ending is still better than the abandoned tag.

When enormous harems of women are just incomprehensibly in love with the Horse cocked MC, usually there's just not enough character development to justify it so it comes off as sloppy to me, not even a good fantasy to indulge in.

No Story, too many girls with way too less scenes. Jumping from scene to scene without plot

Seeing like 30 characters in a game and when you talk to them the game says "No further content for this character"

Scope creep due to either ambitiousness or whiny posters demanding their fetishes. Now-a-days just seeing the AI tag makes me want to not give the game a chance.
