Thank you for the explanation, yes I was really confused about the developer notes. At first when I saw the notes and he mentioned about a new engine I was really worried that he was going to end it very soon, but after what you explained about he would have written those notes when it first came out. I am just happy if that is the right word he chose to make his story a visual novel instead of a 'game' game as you say. It has taken a big weight of my shoulders, which sounds really silly when I write it, but this visual novel has meant so much to me. Normally I prefer to just read the stories, the sex stuff isn't important to me, it either there or it isn't. I would say I am not that easy to please when it comes these visual novels, but there have been some really wonderful story telling that in some avn's have kept me hooked. I just wish there was moreI can understand how the Dev Notes could be confusing. Taken as a whole though, I think this being a "smaller game" than was originally intended just means that the dev initially wanted something closer to an actual "game" game, and instead pared it back in scope to just a visual novel. The comment about how if they wanted to stick to the original vision they'd need to swap game engines and rewrite everything is particularly telling. Like, keep in mind those Dev Notes were written around the time when the very first version released.
